We have been coming here most summers for more than 15 years with my wife’s family. Honestly they love it so I’m kind of reluctant to do this review but I feel my thoughts will be helpful to some. There’s a huge grassy area behind the condos that is a lot of fun for sports, games, and letting kids run around. The playground is fun for the kids too and they like the slide at the pool and the mini golf. The beach is fine, but far from the condos. I know that’s not their fault (drought). But where I have a problem is the maintenance and the condos themselves. The bathroom closest to the beach is the one at the pool and for the Men’s it’s one toilet and it’s always disgusting. The condos are old, mostly outdated, and either no AC or the central air just doesn’t work. The construction is poor and the floor plan super inconvenient. The beds are extremely I comfortable and we’ve stayed in various condos and the house on the south side.

Great amenities. Poorly maintained facilities and unhelpful staff. I’ve been coming to Ideal Beach for 30 years and have many fond memories. Unfortunately, I think I’ll be booking my stays elsewhere in the future. The good: the pool, beach access, lawns, playground, and mini golf keep the whole family entertained. However… The bad: it can’t make up for the condo situation anymore. Even the best “deluxe” condos are not very comfortably furnished and very poorly cleaned. Many of them are very unsafe for kids with dangling wires and grimy conditions. The hallways and exterior doorways are covered in cobwebs, trash, and who knows what else. The whole place seems to be run by teens who really don’t want to be there and have no interest in being bothered by patrons.

Many bad problems. The internet is so bad that we missed important texts, calls and couldn't use the internet. The buildings are old and in need of repair. They put in smart mirrors in the bathroom but they disregard everything else. The carpet had multiple tears and paint chipping and just overall worn. The kids that are running the place are just idiots. Very poor service. I asked one how much the fountain drinks cost and he didn't know as there was no pricing posted. We had to wait an hour before we could get in to our condo as the girls messed up our cleaning and room numbers and so forth. There were some positives but not enough to justify how hot the condo was without AC. Seriously 500 bucks a night is not worth it.

We can’t get enough. Mini golf, two swimming pools and hot tubs, tennis courts, beautiful beach access, frisbee golf, huge community lawn, long stretches of sidewalk, even just the view is so perfect. We come every year, sometimes twice.
