I've tried to prevent abuse and neglect in caregiving and called Disability Rights Oregon about how Oregon Govt. is destroying Caregiver's provider ID numbers Illegally forcing Disabled and Elderly into nursing homes (now guilty of GLOBAL HOMICIDE POST COVID) Disability Rights HUNG UP ON ME, the first time, and over the following 8 years I tried to find help with this issue, they Never Returned my calls. They could've Saved Lives, Money and Caregivers like me. What DO THEY DO?

After contacting 97 attorneys & nonprofit agencies in regards to an order of protection I had to file for & was granted, which the respondent contested it; the respondents atty filed a motion & made it all about his client, citing it violated his clients right to free speech! I contacted legal aid, senior law center, womenspace & the U of O Law Center & 90+ attys who all state that they help with orders of protection, but NOT ones that are not "domestic" in nature. And being fielded by one government agency to another government agency, DRO informed me about a fairly new group, the Oregon Crime Survivors. They could not give legal advise, but gave me some information & pointed out a few things to me that I did not know. After the respondents atty failed to protect my location from his client after I used a SAFE contact address & telephone number. I filed a complaint with the Oregon State Bar against the respondents atty. Then the atty responded to my complaint citing "there was no box to check off" that states he is to protect my where abouts from his client & "the judge did not write anything in the order of protectiont that says he can't give the repondent my contact information". Ignorance of the law & rules of a protective order are no excuse for an atty to use in his own defense. If an atty takes a case it is the attys responsibility to know the rules & what the protective ordrer is & what SAFE contact information is. So DRO rrferred me to OCS. I contacted Oregon Crime Survivors again & though they could not give me legal advice they confirmed I was on the right track with my response to the Oregon State Bar. My only wish is that they had some sort of pro-bono legal representatives for victims who are not only victimized by their harasser, but then revictimized by the respondents atty...not once, but twice. Are you a survivor of a crime? Give the Oregon Crime Survivors a call, they might be able to help or steer you in the right direction.

This is not a competent, good organization. It needs to be restructured and new staff and leadership put in place. For the time being I would call the governor's office directly. Hopefully this org will soon be on a corrected path.

I had asked them to look into a case where those with developmental disabilities were asked to give up power of attorney to an east coast payroll company, in order for their providers to be paid. As a new policy that most would disagree with, Disability Rights Oregon said “ this is an issue that is not within our goals and priorities to pursue further.” I guess they really don’t care about disability rights, or are too lazy to put up the good fight. Shame on them.

Well you can certainly contact the branch manager or where she receives her services. Also, you can call the governor's advocacy line and share your concerns there.
