(July 2022)Not your place if you can't handle bugs, no beach (there is a boat launch and dock enclosed by lily pads), silence, and not seeing other people. Campsites are spread out and the pit toilet was extremely clean. Each site has a nice table. Not many places to hike. I didn't see really any signs of large wildlife. There were frogs but they were silent. Saw some rather large rabbits. I did not see any ranger, but they were not needed because everything was well maintained. The road in is a bit primitive for a trailer, mainly due to a couple of tight corners, but I'm sure you could get in. A street car can make it easily. I loved the spot. It was extremely peaceful. The fire pits were deep, the stars were unbelievable, the lake was calm, and it was beautiful!

Little Twin Lakes is a set of two small, wooded, generally quiet, free campgrounds in the Colville National Forest. Access is by a rough, sometimes one lane logging road, camp sites are private but not along the lakes. The lakes are suitable for kayaking but not for swimming, unless you are a moose, who obviously make use of it in cooler months. The pit toilets are not being cleaned this year due to Covid. We enjoyed the early week quiet, but it would not be for everyone.

We recently had the pleasure of staying here at the campground in late October, it was wonderful. Truly one of the best maintained campgrounds we have stayed at in a while, while picking our site we noticed that every site had a fire ring and picnic table, and when getting to our site saw that the fire ring had recently been cleaned out and had stone put it which was very nice to see. We did walk through many of the other sites while staying at the campground (as we were the only ones) and noticed the same cleanliness of all sites, as well as a very clean pit toilet. (which can be overlooked at a lot of campgrounds) We also saw that several sites we larger in order to accommodate the larger rigs that might be staying there. And also a very nice walk to the boat launch, and to the wildlife viewing area, where there was a day use area as well. The views there were breathtaking, and was a very relaxing place to hangout. We do believe that there is a 14 day stay limit here, and being free that makes it a great boondocking destination!

Stay out of water! Lake is full of leaches.

Do you need a discovery pass to stay here or is it free free like the camping in campgrounds back in Minnesota

This camping area is free for 14 day use. I really enjoyed thus camp site. There's no running water but there is a restroom. The lake is a quick walk and is very nice
