If I could give this place a negative 100 billion stars I would. I just literally had the most unpleasant, uncomfortable and to put it simply, abusive shopping experience I have ever had, by the GM I found out of all people. After she asked me to put my backpack behind the counter which okay I understand however it was so full it was obvious I couldn't fit anything else in it so was pretty redundant, she Continued to follow me at a five foot distance while I shopped. I turned to her and confronted her on it and she was speaking to me in the most aggressive, rude and uncomfortable tone I've ever had someone in retail do, with her argument when I pointed it out being"i don't need you telling me how to do my job, if you don't like it you can leave, how about that", when all I did was ask her to give me a little more space because she was making me uncomfortable and practically breathing down my neck and I hadn't made any behavioral cues that I was in there to shoplift at all. She straight up looked like she was going to hit me, between the look on her face and her posturing I felt my safety was at risk and had to leave the store. I literally left in tears. I wish I had more I could do besides leave this review. Yeah the inventory is great but I literally just got intimidated and attacked and threatened till I left the store for no reason. I am clean kept, have clean clothes, and look respectable by anybody standards, I never deserved being treated that way. That women is seriously unstable and had I met her attitude I truly believe she would have gotten physical with me.

By far the best outdoor store in the city. Honestly I think this might just be my favorite store in Portland period. The staff is extremely friendly and happy to help with any questions you have, but if you just want to roam and explore they understand and give you space. They seem to have everything. I never write reviews but I was compelled after the store and the sales guy just gave me such a good vibe.

Rented two kayaks for the weekend, and had a fantastic time. Owen was so incredibly helpful with our rental experience, and the kayaks we rented were awesome! At first we thought we were going to have to run to a different store to buy an extra set of tie down straps for our roof rack, since they only had one left. Owen was able to track down the last set we needed and even helped us with getting our kayaks on our car! So grateful for such a pleasant experience. Highly recommend coming here for rentals and outdoor gear. They have an awesome selection of clothing and gear.

They just moved (September 2020). Near REI, stop here first they allow you to try on clothes, nice atmosphere. They have a nice selection of adventure gear. Shop here if you’re looking for some new clothes, shoes, etc..

No western wear here. There is a store close by for that. Portland Outdoor Store. 3rd and Oak.
No fishing licenses, but they do have NW Forest past and Snowpark permits
Hi Danielle, Thanks for reaching out. Due to high demand, we don't reserve rentals as they are based on a first come, first served basis. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you! U.S. Outdoor

Hello Jim. We don't have rafts but we do have person float tubes and stand up paddle boards.
Yes Cathy we do. We look forward to seeing you in August!
Hello Priscilla -- Thank you for thinking of us, unfortunately we do not carry skate boots. Bummer! Please think of next time you are in need of outdoor gear. Thanks again!
