Alterations ASAP

I’ve been getting my clothes adjusted here for abt 2-3 years now. The lady/owner here knows her stuff. I find her a bit pricey but kept going back because she’s the only one I know in my neighborhood and her work is good. Giving her 3 stars only because she can come across as extremely harsh/borderline unpleasant sometimes, for no clear reason. I had to call her out on it once when it was so bad. She was gracious enough to back off a bit and semi-acknowledged her rough attitude, so I respect & give her credit for that. I tried to get something altered a few weeks ago and it was obvious she did not want to do the work; she explicitly advised against it. While I truly appreciated her candid advice, I did not appreciate the strong negative vibes that came with it and her obvious reluctance to do it given the amount of work it would take. I felt she quoted an exaggerated price & time frame for completion just so I wouldn’t go through with it. While I know it was her prerogative to do so, it was the final straw for me. I smiled and thanked her graciously and determined not to go back. I debated posting this candid review when Google prompted me to do so and almost didn’t, but decided to go ahead to do so in case it saves someone else from a bad day/experience. I do want to emphasize that other than several of similar incidents, she seems like a nice lady & has a lovely smile when she she’s in a good mood. So it may just be about catching her at the right time/mood. If you don’t care about customer service, she’s the lady for your alteration needs - I have zero complaints about her work and timeliness, and have never even had to try on something she’s altered for me while in her shop. She gets it done right the first time.

Very friendly lady who isn't afraid of complex garments! She tailored my wedding dress and it's so much better now. Despite the crazy thick layers of material with beading in the bust, she managed to put in some darts which really improve the look of the dress. Also did classic bits like hemming and adding a bustle for cheap. All on a fast schedule. Really recommend this place!
