Parking was totally free with no loops to jump through. We found some great books and enjoyed our visit. It was also interesting to see the visible seismic improvements since the renovations were completed.

Love the updates! Library is very clean and has an enormous selection of books. The children's section is amazing. Hoping the discovery center will be opened back up soon! Staff are very helpful and friendly. Love that parking is free for the first 3 hours!

This was my first time visiting since the new construction! They made some new changes that I really liked. First, they got rid of the parking meters, instead implementing FREE three hour parking. (win!) The inside looks cool as well, if a little clinical maybe. I do agree with some of the other reviews that the old tall bookshelves were very nostalgic, but the new renovations are cool and modern. It doesn't really feel as cozy anymore though, with everything being very bright instead of darker and moodier. One of the staff members told me they would be adding a lot more colorful reading chairs and such, which I'm excited for. There are a lot of quiet spaces and tables to read or work. The little shop at the entrance has cool movie posters, prints, and books for very cheap, definitely recommend! I kind of liked having the teen scene in the downstairs area, but it's okay that it's upstairs now.

Each of the DVD's are available at libraries in other towns. You could place a hold w your library card, n select pick up at the Salem public library.
Ask them at the library.
If you have IDou don't need the physical card. And sínce they are not open, all checkout is online, so they should have your record.
No I think if get there membership you can maybe borrow and return
The library is currently closed. Materials are available only by appointment with curbside pickup.
https://www.cityofsalem.net/library/ If you scroll down there are two blue bars, one to view the catalogue and one to schedule pickup.
No only curbside pick up when you order online
When did you borrow it?
They just say this winter 2020
There are coin operated parking meters in the parking garage.

Food and beverages with secure lids are acceptable throughout most areas of the Library. The exception is the Computer Center and in the Library Stacks.
There is no longer a cafe in the library.
If you're not a resident you have to pay monthly for a library card.
I am assumimg it has to do with staffing. There arent a lot of other city entities that are open on a weekend day lat alone the whole weekend. There are staff members there on Mondays who do upkero, though.
Salem Public Library provides a homebound program called Operation Bookshelf, in which volunteers with the Assistance League of Salem-Keizer deliver books to homebound residents. Unfortunately, due to cost limitations, the library is not currently able to mail books to homes.
When I got mine a few years ago, I went to the front desk and filled out information including your address. At the time, I lived in North Salem which was not technically in Salem city limits, so I had a limit on the card.
Thank you for the information.
Yes, Salem Public Library has the book "Crenshaw." The best way to find it is by visiting the Children's or Teen Ask Here desk at the main library, 585 Liberty St SE.
