My husband and I loved this place, but no longer care to go here anymore. We have always worked with the same man, up until recently. We haven’t seen him the last 3 times we have gone in…and the last 3 times the 2 new people that helped us were not helpful at all…and honestly, they didn’t seem knowledgeable with paint. The most recent visit (yesterday) the lady seemed really confused with what we were wanting and didn’t offer any suggestions to make our project successful. We wanted an eggshell finish, but they didn’t have eggshell in sample sizes, so we decided on a quart in matte, since it was the closes thing to eggshell. Before she started mixing the color we wanted she said, “we can do eggshell in the quart size.” Which of course we didn’t want since they didn’t have it in gallons, so we told her no, we wanted matte…she then responded with, “oh yea, that’s right you are going with matte finish.” We told her 2 times we wanted matte finish, and we didn’t realize until after we got home and started painting that she gave us eggshell. I also told my husband that maybe we should go somewhere else since we really wanted eggshell and she said that she knows most places are out because of supply…but we called a different store this morning to see if they have eggshell finish in gallons and the place we called had eggshell in gallons. I feel like she said that to convince us to purchase from this store. Unfortunately, because of our most recent visits we will be going somewhere else for paint.

Great! Brought a pic of the label from my custom mixed house trim color and they whipped up a quart in minutes!

I am totally sold on Miller paint. Very helpful and friendly service, $5 samples as opposed to $20 at Sherman Williams..and it's a PNW company. I am definitely buying from them when I paint my house!

At this location the in store service was ok. The employee working was friendly but not particularly helpful. I am a general contractor and do a fair amount of painting. To be honest I rather enjoy painting and plan to do an increasingly amount throughout the year. I really enjoy finding and testing out new products but I prefer when the sales associates is more knowledgeable about their products than I am. Over the phone I spoke to a young lady who was clearly eating and drinking while speaking to me, um yeah big no no. Anyway, I hate Sherman Williams paint and prices (other than their emerald urethane which is the best door trim and cabinet paint on the market) so I have found myself trying out Miller paint co.. Pros- prices are reasonable though I wish their discount to business' was a little bit more. They carry Farrow and Ball paint which is the finest paint made and it better be at 110 a gallon. They also carry Corona paint brushes which are hands down the best there are, though I wish they carried a wide selection like their black nylon series. They carry a great brand of chalk paint called magnolia and other unique and helpful products. Their evolution paint is good as is their standard acrylic paint. Cons- their color selection needs some serious work. Other than the colors from farrow and ball and magnolia their color selection is by far the worst I have seen. Also Miller co itself needs to expand their type of paint selection. Thats one thing I will compliment SW on is their paint type selection. Too bad they all stink lol. If you go to miller paint co try farrow and ball paint, it will blow your mind and your bank so be careful start small. Other than that stick with their basic acrylic paint, no need to spring for their evolution series. You are going to need two coats anyway and evolution is just too thick. It does not cover all that great and can go on top thick making your second coat a pain in the butt. Anyway sorry for the rant

What do I do with old paint?

If it is water based, you can dry it out until its solidified, then throw it away. If its oil, it must be disposed of through hazardous waste.

Do you recycle old latex paint?

No they do not. You would have to go to a hazardous waste disposal site. Or Miller carrys latex hardener by krud cutter. A powder you mix into the paint and it hardens within a few hours. Then just toss it in the trash. Hope this helps.
