Came here looking for some help. After being taken for hundreds of dollars per fraudulent apartment ad. An officer told me I could come here to get vouchers to stay in motels and I'm hoping for other assistance as well but we'll wait and see....

They work hard to help each and everyone. People who are applying for benefits just need to be patient and understanding as well and not go berserk if they're waiting too long. At least the staff apologize when ur number is finally called. My experience with them went very smoothly

After spending the entire week calling, leaving voicemails & waiting for someone to call me back. (Which NEVER happened) I went in expecting not much help at all since thats how it was the last 2 times I went in. But today thanks to one awesome employee I got my account fixed and a new card with all of my benefits.

Nice office. They have brand new toys and books for the kids to play with and it seems like every time I'm here there's always a wide variety of breads donated. Fresh really good bread. My wait time was no longer than 10 minutes in the later afternoon. Ive gone in the morning time and the place is packed with over an hour wait time. Also, when I was here a long time ago it seemed the staff was standing around chatting about inappropriate topics, like sex. The staff was very young and pretended like there wasn't a line out the door. I was very offended by this but there's not much you can do about it. They obviously did something about it because my recent visit it was very obvious the staff was focused on their work. Minimal chatting that didn't affect my wait time. They were helpful with my questions and concerns. I brought my 3 year old with me this time and it was pretty much empty except for a child that seemed to have no supervision. My son didn't want to stop playing when they called my number so I let him stay but I could still see him from the front desk. He didn't want to leave. I was very happy with my visit this time. Even better than the DMV.

Yes, you certainly can. Which ever office you have your assigned worker at/your case is assigned to is where you should be sending your form to.
They can give you a list of emergency housing resources
No all the community resources are tapped out
Yes
Photo ID works great, is preferred. If you've already been entered into the State computer, they can ask people questions to verify their identity in the case of lost ID.
Make sure you have identification. And your last two weeks pay stubs
Yes
I would suggest calling the specific department of DHS that falls under to get that information, since the employees at self sufficiency offices won't be able to know something that specific.

It depends, are you below or around the poverty line?
If you have a appt, it's faster, when you go make sure you get a ticket they go by numbers.
They take walk ins but therr can be long wait times without an appointment
Go tell them ASAP so you dont get accused of fraud!
