We came here for a second opinion and despite learning the same thing, the care and attention shown to us truly impressed us. Dr. Ruder took the time to explain and answer questions and understood and addressed all our concerns thoroughly without rushing us in the office. His responsiveness is truly remarkable, whether via email, mail, or phone. We feel heard and supported, and best of all, our son feels comfortable and understands what is happening with his oral care. Dr. Ruder goes the extra mile to ensure a connection to our son, and as a result, has easily gained a happy patient. We are very grateful to him and the friendly and professional office staff who run the practice smoothly and efficiently.

Decided to try them out when my kids and I moved back to Olympia. Here's my honest review. My kids loved the tree house they have in the lobby and one of the dental assistants, (Taylor) is fantastic and super patient. Also, Dr. Rowley is great! However the reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because we had to wait about 20-30 minutes after our appointment time, as they seem to run late. No one cared to explain to me that they were running late or anything. Each new patient exam is an hour long and they don't see more than one new patient at a time... I have 3 kids, so that was 3+ hours for their appointments. Also, a few of the front desk receptionists are not very friendly or welcoming. And to top it all off, I found Dr. Craig to be a bit rude and cold to my children who liked to talk a lot and were just curious. They also have ADHD, therefore expecting them to stay quite or sit still is unreasonable. I understand she has work to do, but continuing to tell my children to be quite was quite unprofessional and a bit bothersome to me. Mind you, this was our FIRST experience here. I am just a bit disappointed with some of the staff and how long we had to wait. But if that doesn't bother you, I'd recommend Dr. Rowley and Taylor.

Considering taking your child to Small to Tall? PLEASE DO IT! You won’t regret it. Taking my now 4yr old here has been such a positive experience for our whole family. The office was literally built and designed to provide the best pediatric dental care in the most comfortable, fun and beautiful environment that isn’t loud or intimidating for kids. As a dental hygienist, I have seen many patients with traumatic childhood dental experiences that have stuck with them throughout their adulthood and prevented them from seeking out dental care, often to their own detriment. I love knowing that my daughter is not only getting great care to maintain her oral health, but, perhaps even more important and beneficial, she is developing a LOVE for visiting the dentist that is continually strengthened and reinforced with every positive experience. I know kids can be difficult to work with in a dental setting, so when I say that Small to Tall is a well-oiled, pediatric dentistry machine, I truly mean it! From the front office, to the assistants and the Doctors, they have the special skillset and vocabulary necessary to work with kids and make their visit as magical, safe and comfortable as possible. Thank you Dr. Ruder and the rest of the staff for all you do!

This is the first review I have ever done because I am so impressed. I took my 2 1/2 year old grandson to Small to Tall at the request of my daughter. I must admit I was nervous because young children can become very upset at dental appointments. As a retired elementary and middle school teacher I was very impressed with this clinic. First, the building was beautiful, super clean and welcoming. The entrance had two doors one for the smaller kids and one for the taller kids. (Now I will never forget the name!) Second, we were greeted instantly. The waiting room was quiet and calm. It had a cute play structure that was very inviting. Then, after a very short wait we were escorted back to an exam room by the assistant Mandy. She stayed with my grandson and talked to him as I watched and listened. She went over all the tools and let him touch them and try to use them. Then he climbed up to lay down on a little exam table. As she was working she calmly explained at his level everything she was going to do before she did it. Finally, the dentist came in and introduced herself to him and talked with him before she did an exam. I had a few questions that she answered and then we were escorted out. As I left I saw older kids in chairs. All were relaxed and talking to the assistants or dentists. No tears and no nervous children. Before we left she took a picture of my grandson for him to keep and gave him a few tokens to get a toy from the machine. He had a great experience and wanted to know when he could go back. I think back on taking my 4 daughters to the dentist and wish we would have had this clinic to go to.
