Looking to purchase ski goggles and it was the last day they were in the shelf. Asked for a military discount and the manager FORTUNATE said no. I said these are going to sit in your back room for 8 months, I can’t get a discount. He scoffed and then said. Fine 10% off then scoffed at me. When I called him on it, he lied and said he didn’t then I said I clearly heard you, why would you scoff stop me and he said I don’t like your attitude. I had no attitude. I was there simply to purchase a pair of goggles for an event the next day. Wow. First and last time I go there. They would never treat me like that at REI. Never.

Went to Big 5 when I heard Vancouver was going to get an accumulation of snow. My family was pretty much covered, except one grandson needing snow boots and parents asking for sleds. Now I walked straight to the back of the store where I always went to buy my shoes. No snow boots…not one. So I walked around the whole store bc I knew they’d have them. I found the snow boots and sleds on the right side of the store. I got my 20 year old grandson snow boots that looked “man cool”. When he opened the box and put them on, he agreed. Now he wears them to work. He works in the meat department at Safeway. The boots are easy to wash off after work. The price of these very nice boots were $34.99. Pretty sweet deal.

After searching several other stores, I visited Big 5 on the hunt for snow boots. I was pleasantly surprised to see a small table of reasonably priced children's boots available still, though the sizes were limited. I forgot how much I like Big 5! Such an array of items, some that you wouldn't expect!
