The Federal Way location has a dynamic team that values listening to client concerns and advocating for their health needs. As a Physical Therapist who gets to work often with patients recovering from traumatic accidents, I see how much it positively impacts my patients' healing when they have an attorney team that believes their symptoms and documents with detail to set their case up for success. Thank you Bethanie, Jamie, Patrick, Corey and Rob for taking good care of my patients!

I was in an accident March 1, 2021. Sears injury took on my case when I began having issues finding doctors that would see me and insurance fight back on repairs. Alisha and Matt assisted me setting up the appointments with the proper providers and got me in touch with Harbor Appraisal to help me pursue repairs and everything needed to restore life again to our norm. They communicated regularly and are very prompt in arranging anything needing to be addressed . I was release from doctors care about a month ago and Sears Injury promptly finalized the claim, took care of all the accounts and promptly recover aged and disbursed compensation owed from the party at fault. I truly appreciate Rob Sear, Alisha and Matt for all of their help.

Questions & Answers

What is the personal injury claim process?

Sears Injury Law, PLLC | Aug 17, 2019
Sears Injury Law, PLLC | Aug 17, 2019

The first step in the successful management of a personal injury claim is to make sure we've done all we can to return the client to pre-injury status through appropriate and effective medical care. Once the injured client is released from all medical care at either 100% or as close as they will get, we work on documenting any residual injury or pain for the purpose of settlement negotiations. We then send a "demand" package to the insurance company and enter negotiations towards resolution.

Unfortunately, people every year have their lives changed by injuries from car accidents, including herniated and bulged discs, sciatica, and nerve damage. When should I go to the doctor after an accident?

Sears Injury Law, PLLC | Aug 17, 2019
Sears Injury Law, PLLC | Aug 17, 2019

The best advice is to go see your doctor as soon as you begin to feel pain. Oftentimes pain after accidents can take up to a week or more to begin. It is important that when you feel pain, you seek treatment so that you can begin to recover and we can prove to the insurance company that you were hurt on that day.

What to do when a car accident happens?

Sears Injury Law, PLLC | Aug 17, 2019
Sears Injury Law, PLLC | Aug 17, 2019

When you’re involved in an accident, the most critical thing to do is to get the information of the other driver. You’ll want to take a photo of their drivers license, proof of insurance, and photographs of the damage to both vehicles. Hit and run? Don’t worry- if you carry uninsured motorists coverage we can still make your claim work.

How do car accident claims work?

Sears Injury Law, PLLC | Aug 17, 2019
Sears Injury Law, PLLC | Aug 17, 2019

Car accident claims can be frustrating and confusing. The good news is you’ll likely only need to work through them a handful of times. The bad news is that because they happen infrequently the insurance adjuster is likely to offer you a settlement not reflective of the value of your case to save their company money. Once we take over, we send a letter of representation to the adjuster that makes it unlawful to contact you for the rest of the claim without your permission. We will document, prepare, and present your case to the insurance company to ensure you get fairly compensated.

Can I handle my car accident claim by myself?

Sears Injury Law, PLLC | Aug 17, 2019
Sears Injury Law, PLLC | Aug 17, 2019

It’s true that many people choose to handle their injury claims on their own. However, the insurance companies themselves have provided studies that show that people who are represented by skilled personal injury attorneys recover at a much higher level.

I don’t want to sue anyone, but I don’t want the insurance company to take advantage of me? What should I do?

Sears Injury Law, PLLC | Aug 17, 2019
Sears Injury Law, PLLC | Aug 17, 2019

Until a lawsuit is filed, your claim is against the insurance company, not the other driver directly. We all pay insurance premiums, and when we have to use it the insurance company is obligated to pay. Much more often than not our office is able to recover full value on your case without suing anyone. On the remaining cases, filing a lawsuit is always a decision made by you, our client.

I've been in an accident, how do I know if I need to hire an attorney?

Sears Injury Law, PLLC | Aug 17, 2019
Sears Injury Law, PLLC | Aug 17, 2019

We feel strongly that if you've been injured by the negligence of another party you deserve fair compensation and should hire an injury law attorney as early as possible. Insurance companies are enormous corporations who don't care about individuals or their injuries.... their model is profits over people. Without the assistance of an attorney the injured person is powerless in the fight for fairness, and with an attorney, the playing field is leveled.
