I lived in Frankfurt West Germany (when there was an east and west) in 1983/4 and I don't remember schnitzel being this BLAND AND TASTELESS. Not only was the pork schnitzel blah, the chicken vegetable soup was blah also, I could not even see 1 pepper flake floating in the broth, just a tasteless cup of stuff. Next the sauerkraut, it would have been decent except it seemed to be a month past it's expiration date, when I mushed it with my fork it literally turned to mush. It did not retain any semblance of a vegetable, pickled or not. As a side note I don't recall ever seeing a lemon wedge the whole time I was in Germany let alone anyone ever spraying a schnitzel with one, YUCK ! I also ordered a shot of Apfel Korn Liquor, it was god awful, I distinctly remember it being wonderful w/ a distinct bite but theirs (they said it is hand made in house) was hyper-sweet and most unpleasant to drink, even to the point of it being GROSS. Last but not least, I'd like to say the 1(or 2) redeeming features are the selection of Real German Beers, that and the Magnificent Apple Strudel.

Came for dinner and it was very busy. Heads up you should get a reservation and we didn't know that. There isn't area to wait up front, but there are benches outside. Tried for lunch the next day and it was less busy. Got brats, beer, pretzels, saurkraurt, red cabbage and the fried potato dumplings. It was all very delicious. Huge servings. Dessert was also huge! (Oma's 4 layer torte). Great service. Very clean. I love the little shop attached with cold cuts and German candies.

I had a wonderful experience a Helga's. Kat waited on me. She was great. She answered ALL my questions. I will absolutely be back.

I enjoy German food, but it has to be authentic. And this place is! The last Friday/Saturday night they have live music and dancing. The original cocktail I tried has their signature apfelkorn (apple liquor). Seriously?! It tasted like cinnamon apple cider. It was so delicious, but dangerous because it could easily drop you to the floor. The menu is their own recipes brought from Germany. Steins are for sale as well. Great selection of German beers (bier). If you like beer and don't want a hangover, German beer is the way to go. The food is amazing! If I didn't live so far, I would be here more often. Check it out! You will not be disappointed.

The last Friday of every month they have a live band set up. Always good food and bier!
Didn't notice
They do...usually German music
Masks required, tables are distanced appropriately, tables cleaned after each guest.
I don't remember anything on the menu that said it was vegan, but I also wasn't really looking for that, so I might have missed it. Their menu focused on Schnitzel, Brats, and sandwiches, with several other miscellaneous entrees.
