There are two legal aid advocates/ services in Portland. I've talked with Lewis & Clark Law school. They've kicked the can down the road 3 times on me. No help. The other legal aid office puts you through a phone maze that gets you nowhere and you can't leave a message for call back. No faith in these so- called services. They've grown up with a silver spoon, and they hold out hope, with no delivery. I have no faith in our systems. There really is no justice, just lip service and and and... ( fill in the rest as you see where this leads) My faith in God grows stronger every day. My faith in people, America, is non existent.

Most Domestic Violence resources recommend going to LASO for protective orders and custody leading victims to believe that they will get the legal support they need to stay safe. But, the reality of LASO is that DV advocates aren’t aware of the fact that Legal Aid only take four of the most serious and severe cases of abuse. If you don’t have physical evidence of abuse, they will NOT take your case! Plus when they provide support their advice is usually wrong! There is no real justice until family law provides spouses and partners with the same quality of representation as the opposing party! LASO is a joke!

Call legal aid or Oregon state bar and they can refer you to an attorney that will answer your questions. It's usually free-$35 for a consultation

Is there an app for legal aid?

Sorry, but there is no app. We recommend the OregonLawHelp.org site for legal information, and if you need to speak with an attorney, check on the map on that site or the 'Find Legal Help' tab to find a local office. All local offices are open only for phone intake at this time.

I am not a lawyer. I would suggest contacting not only Legal Aid but also the State of Oregon's Human Services department.
