The first room I was given had a milk house heater plugged into an outlet, sitting on a table for heat. After demanding a different room, I'm not sure the wall heater in the second room was much better, as the controls were broken. The carpet was gross, needed to be re[;aced. The entire room was aged, stained, and dirty. The grass around the exterior building was full of trash.

We have stayed at the tall car Inn in Shenandoah Iowa for many years. This hotel this year has really gone downhill. The new owners don’t seem to care about the repair of the hotel or the bed bugs that infest the place. I recently stayed there. And was covered in bedbug bites. I tried to inform the management/owner. I never even received a phone call from him/her. After calling and leaving messages for a week and a half straight. I will never stay at this hotel again and would recommend you run in the other direction if you’re thinking of staying here. Bad bad bad. Lights that don’t work, filthy dirty carpeting, stains on the bed, hanging by the wires smoke detectors, soft spots on the floor, lights that don’t work, sinks that don’t work. This place should really be shut down.

Where do I start? The staff had to run against the door and body slam the door to get it to open. The stench in the room made me gag. No working fridge or microwave. Stained sheets. The lampshades were broken and hanging off the frame. Overly priced, outdated and overall bad experience would not recommend even to my worse enemy!!!

Its a very good place to stay as a construction worker, rates are reasonable, The set up is beautiful, with suits too, but I have to add the bar being reopened would be nice, Esp. for construction workers, truck drivers, the hotel needs updating, but it is kept pretty clean. The managing family is from India, but they are wonderful people, truck parking is available. I was happy with my stay there.
