Both people I talked to were very nice and helped me get a list of all the paperwork I needed to send in. Within a couple days I had all my paperwork back and both social security cards within a week!

Can never get through. When I did today, I was disconnected by a person who said hello, listened to my first sentence explaining why I was calling, the hung up. I had been waiting on hold for 17 mins

We are applying for our daughter's Social Security number from Canada. When preparing the package to send we called this office specifically to make sure everything would be acceptable, and followed the office's advice for what type of ID to use. They then rejected the package based on their advice which we had followed precisely, and forced us to reapply (twice). Despite receiving all the ID, they keep no record of what was sent so we have to issue all the passports and birth certificate etc. again at the cost of $50 for registered mail and several more months of waiting. Why cannot they not keep an open file of the records already sent and just allow us to send one new document? Absolute nightmare working with these people.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I tried dropping off sensitive documents today to a staffed office, but they would not take it from me and insisted that I mail them to the same exact address. The directions on the website were that you can drop off your application and when you click on the local office, it says they are open from 9-4. What a waste of time and resources! A drop off box would be the sensible thing to do since this is a COVID closure, but then again, we are talking about a government office where common sense and efficiency is not a priority. Perhaps you should update the website!

My brother lives in Canada and needs the # for the Bellingham WA office. The 800 # does not work.
phone number for the local Bellingham office?
same question please
Same... I called the Toll free number & is not in my area to calll
Go to the Social Security Building 710 Alabama St. Bellingham an apply for a new social security card!
The same as you would use in the United States
Will passport be ok?
How is it that I can find this question repeated again and again on the site, but I cannot see an answer. Does the Bellingham SSA have a NON-toll free phone number?
Yes
Yes they're open
I checked about a week ago and it was. They never answer the phone either.
No you need to go to the irs
Yes. The doors are locked and they only see people by appointment.
You need to call the Bellingham SSA office and book an appointment.
Yes it is open until 4 on wednesday
Beyond making sure to bring in a death certificate I don't know
Why do you want to do that?
You can walk in for anything. (Get there a half-hour before they open for the fastest service.)
Monday sorry or 1sunday night
That isn't right at all!!
It should be pretty easy just go right in and request the form or sometimes they can do it for you
No idea sorry
You do it online
What is the telephone number to the Bellingham Social Security office ?
Yes he can. In the case of death of a person receiving SSD, their spouse/husband would be the first to recieve her benefits. If the deceased was single , divorced or widowed her children would be next in line him I recieve her benefits. I believe these benefits duration is the entire life of the dependents. He needs to make an aopointmemt with SS. Bring in her death certificate and marriage licenses or proof that you were in fact married to her and file for a dependents claim. Depending on how long ago she filed for disability you may be entitled to retroactive back pay as well But I'm just guessing bc I filed for my girls, both are alive dependents and their offering both retroactive backpay to when I filed initially
Have your i.d. avaliable than pay a visit to the office and ask the officers on duty.
You go to the SS Office on James Street and show them the stamped copy of the paperwork you turned in. If that doesn't work then you get an attorney specializing in working to get people their disability benefits and have him or her help you. I highly recommend Robinson & Kole, Attorney's at Law.
This is quoted from the internet. "A W2 form must be prepared by employers yearly for employees, showing the employee's total gross earnings, Social Security earnings, Medicare earnings, and federal and state taxes withheld from the employee. The purpose of this form is to provide the employee with information that must be included on his income tax form. It also gives the SSA and the IRS information to verify the employee's income tax return."
