I've been seeing Dr. Barbra Ann Carey after a femur break a few months ago. She is AMAZING. She is so patient in taking the time to answer all my questions and make sure I understand the course of treatment. She also spends the entire hour with me uninterrupted, she takes the time to plan out treatments that suite my needs and abilities. Some of the best patient care I have ever had!

I really want to thank Dr. Sam Watkins at MoveMend for helping me regain a lot of mobility and manage my lower back pain. The progress over the last year and half is immense and I have had very less flare ups ever since visiting him. The plan Sam had setup for me was realistic and tangible from not being able to bend forward to now reaching my toes with ease and correct posture.

I had an incredible experience at Move Mend when I came here recently for carpal tunnel. My OT, Erin Eaton, was knowledgeable, responsive, thoughtful, motivating, and fun throughout my months of OT. I always looked forward to sessions and I am so happy with how my hands are doing now! MoveMend admin staff were also super helpful with processing my L&I claim. Erin rocks and I would recommend her without hesitation! Huge fan of MoveMend and I will definitely refer loved ones here.

I've been to MANY physical therapists over the years, and I was regularly disappointed at how many of them didn't get me back to my regular activities that I loved or didn't have exercises that translated into my daily activities. MoveMend is a 180 from that experience and simply put, they are amazing. They have caring, knowledgeable Physical Therapists/Physio Coaches that educate you, make you feel heard, and get you back into shape as quickly as possible. I love that their facility has a full gym layout so you can test out exercises that you want to reincorporate as you heal. If you're dealing with an injury or want to begin exercising again with confidence after healing from one - call this place. You won't regret it!

Yes! MoveMend has a smartphone app that enables your Physio Coach™ (who are also all physical therapists!) to give you workouts that can be done at your convenience. Our coaches will initially assess your fitness, injury history, and goals with an in-person session, then create a custom workout program and deliver it to you via our smartphone app. We include a once a month in-person session and weekly open gym hours just for people like you who sign-up for our Physio Coaching™ Elements program (https://movemend.as.me/?appointmentType=6687438). Convenient fitness, accountability and expertise!
Yes! We feel that traditional rehab just doesn't do enough for people who are regularly engaged in an active lifestyle. This is why we created Physio Coaching™ where we integrate the principles of rehab with strength and conditioning to help people maximize fitness regardless of previous injury. And all our Physio Coaches™ ARE physical therapists! This service fills the gap when people are discharged from physical therapy, but aren't sure exactly how to train or what exercises should be done to continue to improve. Personal trainers don't have the knowledge base to advance people post-injury. This service was made for people like you!
All ages from 8-65 years old. The majority of our soccer athletes range from 11-30 years old.
The physical therapists at MoveMend treat a lot of soccer players with ankle and ACL injuries, although ANY injury that stops an athlete from playing their best is reason enough to consult with one of our physical therapists. Not only do all our physical therapists have doctorate degrees, but they are also active athletes themselves (2 of our physical therapists even played collegiate level soccer!) and understand that soccer is a contact sport that can lead to a wide variety of injuries.
A physical therapist who specializes in ACL rehab should have taken the time to be mentored by other specialists, continue to research the latest surgical and post-operative physical therapy techniques for ACL rehab, and see ACL injures regularly in practice. It's also important that treatment is 1:1 with a physical therapist, NOT "therapy" provided by an aide or technician. ACL rehab is best provided in one-hour treatment sessions where you get the complete undivided attention of the physical therapist. There should also be a service to help people transition from "patient" to "athlete". MoveMend provides a unique service called Physio Coaching™ for this exact purpose. The physical therapists at MoveMend Rehab and Performance fit all this criteria!
Our therapists average about 15 per year.
We do have specialists in ACL rehab and return to performance and sport after ACL injury. Our physical therapy team all have extensive experience in treating ACL injuries, especially those with the goal of returning to sport (soccer, running, skiing, tennis) and an active lifestyle. Our physical therapists always study the latest research about ACL injuries to make sure our techniques are current.
We can definitely get you started running without pain or injury! MoveMend offers running assessments to make sure your running technique isn't leading to injury or impeding performance. We also have an in-house running expert, Dr. Tanner Melnick, who not only assess and treats running injuries, but also coaches runners of all levels to meet their running goals. Give us a call or email and we will help you start a running program that works for you!
We have Physio Coaches™ who provide runners of all abilities with detailed, custom training plans to reach their running goals. Why run with pain or run below your ability? With guidance and support, our athletes (of ALL ages and ALL abilities) enjoy running more than ever, and do it safely.
MoveMend does have physical therapists who work with runners. We offer an in-depth 2-part running assessment for people who are new to running, want to run without pain, and run after recovering from an injury. Dr. Tanner Melnick, our in-house running expert, also offers coaching for runners who want guidance on how to prepare for 5-10k's to full marathons and ultra-marathons!
Not only do we work with tennis players regularly, one of our physical therapists played Division 1 tennis in college before she earned her physical therapy degree (Dr. Barbara Ann Carey). By integrating the principles of rehabilitation with strength and conditioning, what we call Physio Coaching™, we address not only the injured body part, but also the entire person. For example, for a tennis player with tennis elbow, that may mean both exercises for the tendons around the elbow AND exercises to improve quickness on the court so the overall mechanics of playing tennis improves and decreases the risk of re-injury.
MoveMend works with athletes of all ages and abilities. Youth athletes playing soccer, tennis, and baseball and older adults who rock climb, run, and attack their gardening like an Olympian seek out MoveMend for help. (And speaking of that, we do happen to work with a couple of Olympians too!)
Yes, we see a lot of clients with ankle sprains. It's a common injury and can limit day to day activity and fitness pursuits (running, walking, hiking). We have several physical therapists with extensive experience treating ankle sprains. Give us a call and we can take care of you!
Yes I'd say they specialize in working with athletes! Erin has been great for working on climbing specific injuries and recovery!
MoveMend does offer Strength Training! We offer a unique service called Physio Coaching where we integrate the principles of rehabilitation with strength and conditioning to help people, regardless of past injury, achieve maximal fitness and performance.
