I generally have really good experiences at this Lowes store, but wanted to highlight a recent purchase and interaction with one of their specialists. A few weeks ago, our antiquated slop sink decided to fail in spectacular fashion, resulting in a leak that destroyed the counter and cabinet it sat in, flooding into the basement below. We use that sink daily, and needed a decent looking, functional replacement, ASAP. I stopped in the store after work, and at that point was feeling defeated and unsure that I'd find what I needed. Thank goodness for Mike Bullard. Mike found me in the cabinet aisle and opened the box of a specimen I was interested in, helping me take a measurement to see if a 36" cabinet was slightly undersized to fit in our 35.75" space. No dice. However, he suggested that I could plane the edge of the cabinet to fit, and lead me to an inexpensive plane in the tool section that could do the job. Then came the countertop. He showed me my options, and walked me through how to cut out for the sink without damaging the laminate. We talked through the tools I already had, and settled on one that would be the best fit for the job. All-in-all, I left Lowes feeling confident that I could do the replacement, and have a really nice looking result... and that's exactly how it worked out. Thanks, Mike!!!

Their "appearance boards" (1x4, 1x6, 1x8, etc) are horrible quality. Finally found a decent poplar board, but couldn't buy it because it's on recall?! Fine, scrounged through the pile of pine instead, only to be told it's also on recall! What?! Wasted 2 hours between drive time and digging through garbage materials, only to leave empty handed. I'm not even sure WHY it was recalled (neither was the manager or 2 cashiers), but why is it still on display?!
