My son has been terrified of getting his haircut in a shop after tolerating me cutting his hair at home all of COVID and a bad experience elsewhere... We took him in to Wedgewood Barbers today and the barber was so so patient and helpful! He talked everything through with my son and helped him not be scared of the scissors and clippers. My son was so relieved and is now excited to come back. Great customer service, thank you!!

My new favorite barber shop in Seattle! They are super friendly, pretty cheap and do an excellent job cutting my hair. Pretty fast service as well. I would recommend to everybody!

The haircut was fine, I got a short, professional looking haircut a few days ago. However, the barber cut into my skin. I had hoped it would go away but I still have this long scratch on the back of my neck that has been a constant irritation. I will probably not come back as I have never had a barber do this to me before.

I've gotten my last whack haircut from these guys. The price is good - $18, compared to the new guy down the street who charges $35 - but that's about the only positive thing I can say, unfortunately, even though I started off wanting to like this place. So, you're going to have to bear here, as this review has been a long time coming. First off, let me say that I spent a couple of *years* actively trying to like this place. I live nearby, and I've always wanted to have a cool neighborhood barber who would hook me up. But every time - Every Time - I end up with a cut that's off. They have a few different guys, so I kept going back, figuring maybe it was just bad luck. The next time, I always told myself, would be better - I'd hit it off with the barber, they'd be less impatient, and I'd get into a groove with the place that would last. But every time was the same. To be clear, I don't ask for a super complicated cut - just a straight 'businessman's cut'- AKA short on the sides with a scissor blend around the crown - and a small hard part. I don't even mind if it's a little shorter or longer, and will even ask a barber if they have ideas for changing it up bit. But something always ends up messed up when I come here, whether it's a messed up fade making my head look like a triangle, or a funky part, or realizing afterward that they never cleaned up my neck line. Part of it is the scissor blend. I have super straight, super-thick hear that shows cut marks like crazy, so you have to fade/blend with the points of the shears (or a pair of thinning shears) around the crown. And when you have straight hair, this is something other barbers just do automatically. But with the exception of one guy here, who I think has since left, these guys only do it if I ask (often I have to ask multiple times), and when they do it's typically rushed. This last time was the worst of all. The guy was super impatient. He repeatedly caught my eyebrows and ears as he whipped the comb around my head, them pulled off the cape without the hard part I asked for. I could see he had thinning shears right there, and he was all 'yeah no problem,' when I had mentioned the scissor blend, but he forgot that, too. The icing on the cake was that when I asked again for the hard-part, he puts the cape back on, then proceeds to mutter and curse and say 'oops' while he does it. When I walked away, sure enough I had that 'triangle-head' going on, along with a downward-sloping part that managed to miss the natural peak on that side of my hairline. Plus, again because the guy did no fade/blend, I have a big bulge on the back. This hurts me to write. I always wanted to like these guys. It's a longtime neighborhood business, and totally free from that 'haircut on a rough wood plank/oyster-and-scissorsmith' vibe of a lot of hipster spots. But from the terse-to-the-point of rudeness guys to the actual cuts, my experiences there have ranged from mediocre to bad. I'd recommend these guys for a buzz cut but not much else, and I won't be back.
