The compost is full of micro plastics. I have had this issue multiple times so the last time I went there I asked directly if they had had noticed this recently, the gal at the front said no. I requested to take a look at the piles of compost and was directed toward to their sample in front of the front desk. I sifted through this and pulled out a handful of plastic in just a couple minutes. I brought this in to show her and put it on the desk. She immediately just scooped it off the counter and threw it away without acknowledgement of the issue. I know this is a challenge when so many people throw plastic into their municipal compost bins and it is tough to get that out in the composting process, but it is pretty gross to be selling compost full of plastic and putting that into the garden & soil that we grow our food in and runs off into the water ways.

We purchased a full dump truck load of compost in the winter to use on our garden. Now that several months have elapsed we are disappointed with the amount of weed seeds in the compost. It's full of weed seeds and has made much more work for us. I included two pictures, one of weeds that came up in a parsnip patch and another of a pile of compost that was leftover after spreading the rest on our garden, as you can see it has sprouted many weeds. If you do get their compost I recommend re-composting for a year so that's its brought up to a proper temperature to kill weed seeds as their process leaves many intact.
