Mason County Transfer Station

I felt like I had to write a response because I love this transfer station because of its convenient location. I think Mason County can do a better job advertising what this site really is-- a limited service satellite transfer station. People should understand this is NOT a full-service station. You can't bring large dump trucks or large trailers. It is geared more for locals and their everyday garbage/recycling AND people who have patience. There is a reason it has such limited hours and its only staffed by ONE person. I have always had great service and if I have a huge load, I will drive up to Shelton to use the scale and their additional services and capacity.

It's convenient, friendly staff, and it's super affordable. Ok its a little tight navigating when its sunny and busy, but if you have a smaller trailor 6x8 its perfect In10 years i've never been turned away b/c their bins are full. Maybe go earlier in the day rather than 4 o'clock on Monday I wish they were open on wed or thursday too. 2 days aweek is not quit enough sometimes...

Last Monday they close early because the bins are full, this week they close down for the day on Sunday because of a one hour power outage. Everybody local has their garbage piling up. The paper and cardboard recycle containers are usually too full and overflowing onto the ground. Poorly managed.
