Is it too late to write a review from 1974 - 1978? My neighbor is an O scale buff and it brought back memories of me being a kid (10 yrs old then) and falling in love with this place! I decided to take a chance and search to see if it's still here and yes they are! I used to live around 148th and Halsey and whenever I got money from allowance or picking berries (Townsend farms) I'd be on my bike for a ride up there. What joy as a kid, what fun and what a great place to just hang out. All the wonderful stuff and fun I had building that track in my basement. So glad to see y'all are still there! Keep up the good work and I hope to bring my son by there some time to visit (we live in TX now, so it's a trip). Thank you for all you've done!

My husband and son loved this shop. My husband was able to find a couple train cars for his layout. The employees were nice and very helpful. We will be back when we are in the area.

AMAZING PLACE! Charlie is the absolute best! Want information, advice, or probably just to talk trains - Charlie is your guy! What a great shop, so happy I stopped in here. Will definitely be back to Whistle Stop Trains for my next model train purchase (very soon). There's always some trepidation in learning a new hobby. I have been considering a model train set for a long time, I finally decided to try to piece together a functional set, with the intent to switch to DCC once I get the hang of track laying and wiring. I had pieced together some data and ideas from the web, but I had a few questions to make sure I knew what I was doing. The first store I went to said they didn't have time, and there's resources available online. While true, I really needed advice from experienced people. My girlfriend told me about Whistle Stop Trains. I was excited to try again, and this place did not disappoint. Charlie guided me to a quality used engine, power pack, and the right switches so I could figure out wiring. I had it set up the first night. Thanks for taking the time Charlie! I've found my new hobby.

Another excellent model train shop in PDX.

I am not sure. But they have a nice selection of cheap used locomoives, and I beleive that you can sell to them as well. You should give them a call
They are complying like any other business, with the mandates of governor Brown. Masks, 6-foot distancing. Number of customers at one time is not a concern... It is a limited hobby/clientele type of business. BTW, they have a large inventory if you are into the hobby. Z scale to O scale...
Yes they have a repair service.
I called the whistle stop, and yes they do have gift CERTIFICATES! A friend of mine purchased one by phone.
I believe they do or at least sell them in consignment.
You should call them. This is just a service to ask questions of customers.
Yes. But there is not a lot in stock. If you want somethng specific I would ask them to order it for you.
