If I could give zero stars I would. The employees are rude and unprofessional. Zero customer service. Went to the dollar general in North Syracuse, New York today. The cashier was on their cell phone when they cashed me out; there was obviously something going on because she was upset and distracted and I understood that. But once I got in my car and off on my way I looked over my receipt and realized the girl didn't give me the right amount of change. My total was 21.68. I gave her 40 bucks (as all I had was two 20s on me) she gave me a 10 dollar bill back with some change. So I called over there; got a few no answers but finally on the third try someone answered and I explained the situation; the person on the other end said "come back in an hour I need to count the drawer" and hung up without asking me my name or phone number or even giving me their name. (Very rude and short with me). So I waited an hour but instead of driving back there I decided to call first and check the status & thankfully I did because the girl that answered had no idea what was going on. I explained the situation, explained that I had spoke to someone before. (She wanted to know who but I didn't know; as the person gave me no name before) and this new girl was extremely rude. She said she had no idea what I was going on about. And then said she needed an hour to count the drawer. And I explained that was what the other person had told me. Then she said well I don't know what to tell you. And hung up. So def. not a fan of dollar general. Their customer service, professionalism and employees suck! NOTE TO DOLLAR GENERAL STAFF FOR FUTURE REFERENCES: the proper response would have been. "I'm so sorry for the error. At the end of shift we will count the drawer. Could I please have your name and phone number so we can reach you." or "please hold while I put you on the phone with the store manager."

I wasn't happy with their customer service at all. A line...2 registers...1 .ca shier was helping a couple so I went to her and she says oh actually I'm not open. Which she actually was for them anyways. Then after I get through the first line and go out to my car...there's the cashier, who couldn't cash me and another customer out, outside having a cigarette!! It wouldn't of killed her to cash us out as I only had 2 items and the gentlemen behind me had 1 item. SMH

Why is it that i always have to ask did i get the sale price? Today i did not ask and when i got home and checked my receipt i got robbed of about a dollar. Need to slow your cashiers down so the customer can keep up with the scanner to know what they are being charged

The managers treat their employees like garbage. It's sickening. I was there last night and it was probably about 40 degrees in the store. They should truly be ashamed. The manager is a total creep. I don't know how he got a position as manager. He shouldn't have made it past being a bag boy/cart collector. Need better management.
