We had so much fun! The staff is really friendly and the whole operation is run really smoothly. We rented a quad cart for two adults and one child. The cart rolls SO smoothly on the track, making pedaling a breeze! We had around 8 carts in our group, plus the lead cart and caboose cart with staff members. There is no rush getting from the start to the 1/2 way point, so you can take your time. We left quite a bit of distance and it felt like we were on our own private adventure. At the 1/2 way point, you can get off your cart and walk down to the river. There are also picnic tables up at the top of you don’t want to walk downhill. The staff turns the carts around and then you hop back on to pedal to the start. Just before the end, staff members take a picture, which is a nice keepsake. All in all, we would 100% do it again in another location. We did the North Creek trip, which is 6-7 miles on flat rail along the river. Beautiful!

An amazing an experience and something completely new for me and my family. The scenery was beautiful, the staff was pleasant and fun. While we all went out as a group, the way we were able to space ourselves from the other members of our group made it, like it was our own excursion. Definitely recommend this to anyone who is near Lake George or North Creek. The bikes were easy to peddle and with everyone working together (my family consisted of 4) we peddled the entire 7 miles with little effort. Thank you Revolution Rail Co, stay awesome!

We took the first ride of the day on the North Creek North rail. I wasn't sure what to expect but I had an idea. Just like rafting, you take a short bus ride up North a few miles past the town and there awaits your rail bike. You pedal through an abandoned mine rail up about 3.5 miles through the deep adirondack woods along the Hudson River over a large bridge before reaching your halfway point, a little of a slight uphill climb as the way back you can ease off pedaling for a bit as you head back. Fun trip, very well experienced and knowledgeable guide. Would do again as there's other rails they offer.

Was a really beautiful day and we had a great time. An easy 7 mile bike ride, legs started burning after 2.5 miles (1% incline so don’t worry too much!) The way back to the station is downhill and mostly coasting! Very friendly and helpful staff.

The friendly folks that work the rail allow on car at a time out of the gate, peddlers are good about maintaining a decent space between cars. You may stop to take photos, and the same track is used for both ways. No service at the turn around point. I would recommend The Alpine Lodge in North Creek for accommodations. Have fun!
Hey Christina! Thanks for the question. We have a 72 hour cancellation policy. Any person who cancels in advance of 72 hours will receive a full refund for the reserved bike(s). Hope that helps! Revolution Rail Co.
Hi Michael, Our rail biking trips are a little bit over two hours round-trip on an out-and-back course that is just under seven miles. Riders can choose a tandem bike (up to two riders) or a quad bike (up to four riders). The bikes themselves are pedal-powered. Hope that helps!
Hi MaryAnne, The best time to come for fall foliage is usually between mid-September and mid-October. The exact peak changes based on temperature, etc. Hope you can make it out!
Hi Shirley, The trip is just over 2 hours round-trip. Thanks for the question!
South River is mostly flat with a mild gradient in some stretches especially noticeable on the way back. There is a short muddy, steep path that allows you to walk up to the Hudson river at the final stopping point. There are a couple of nice scenic points along the way. I have not visited the North segment.
