It's cool, chill environment, always seem to have time for rescheduling etc. and no one is mean. I genuinely learned stuff there even with my goldfish memory.

Took my drive test. The instructor was very kind and was honest. Told me what to remember. Took my test and passed with a 90 on the first try. Was actually pretty easy! I recommend this place 💯% Best in town. Thanks team!

I had a bad experience With a different unprofessional driving school, I decided to book with i5 driving school last minute and had a great experience. Genie was so helpful and kind and gave me great tips, answered my questions right before we started and didn’t make me feel nervous. I would recommend anyone to come here for their driving tests. It was worth the drive from burien :) ALSO they’re prices are great.

Our first 5-star round with I-5 was a little over a month ago in Maple Valley for a road test for kid #2; Federal Way was up for both a written and road test for #1. No issues with booking either test. The written was about a week out and the road test a little over a week after that (today). The instructor / examiner was friendly and did a great job of stress reduction; the test started a few minutes early and was done quickly. It’s pretty simple, know your stuff, know how to drive and things go well.

Hi, currently the knowledge test is $25 for 2 attempts to pass. The driving test in our car is $50, and the driving test in your car is $35. This can change, of course, but has been the same price for the past few years.
Yes, but the test is written in a formal style. The state of Washington creates the tests for all driving schools.
If you mean the written test then no you can normally stop by and do it. But it's nice for them if you would. If it's the driving test the yes you need to plan it with them.
Hi, we offer them Monday thru Friday, and the times will vary. Usually, they are held at 10am, 1pm, and an evening session that is usually 5pm or 6pm. Please call us at 425-890-0000 to find out what times the knowledge test is being held that day, thanks!

Hello! We are permitted to help with some disabilities, but some are required to be referred to the Department of Licensing for license testing. For example, if you have a hearing loss or require a sign language interpreter, we can provide assistance or an interpreter if needed. But if you require devices such as a steering knob or hand controls for the pedals, we are not permitted to offer the driving test and are supposed to refer you to the DOL. Please reach out to us if you have a specific concern, thanks!
Hi, we do have openings, but it's best to call us at 206-207-5555 to schedule one. They often fill up in between email or message replies :)
Yes, we offer the practical test to obtain a driver's license. Your nephew must have passed the state knowledge test first and we also offer that test if he has not passed it.
Hi, if you are 18 years of age or older, you only have to pass the knowledge test and driving test to get a license. A permit is not required, and you don't need a permit to take the driving test. There is no waiting period, and sometimes you can take both tests on the same day, but we don't always have same-day driving test appointments available. Typically, you'll want a permit if you plan to practice on the roads before your driving test. The permit is available at the DOL for $25, which is a lot cheaper than getting caught without one ($550 ticket).
Schedule it
Hello! There isn't an online option to take the knowledge test, unfortunately. When the Department of Licensing reopens, you may be able to take it on a computer in their lobby (North Bend, Tacoma, and Lynnwood only), but it might be August or September before they reopen. Advantages at DOL: On a computer, can be read aloud to you with headphones, $25 includes the permit fee if you are going for a permit. Disadvantages at DOL: The test ends once you answer 9 questions incorrectly, it's really inconvenient, and may not be offered for a couple of months Advantages on paper: You do get to see all of the questions and can skip around, it's only $20 with us, and we'll give you the page numbers related to the questions you missed.
No, we just administer the exams and report your scores to the Department of Licensing. Then you go to the DOL to take your photo and get your license.
Hi, we are still open. The written tests sessions are more limited, so we can give everyone extra space. We are still offering tests every day but Sunday, and we are following King County Public Health guidelines for our locations.
I believe you have to have a Washington ID to get a Washington permit
The driving lesson for 1 hour is $80, and we generally recommend no more than 1 to 3 lessons. It is best to have the instructor help you learn new skills during the hour, then practice with a friend or family member to help reinforce those skills and commit them to long-term memory.
Hi Allen, the DOL does not permit anyone to view the test results once the test is completed. We give you a handout with the score, some tips for passing the next one, and the driver’s guide page numbers related to the questions you answer incorrectly.
