Great ferry for walk on passengers but donβt recommend bringing a car at the moment due to staffing shortages with WA transportation and rules against idling your car while waiting for the ferry. These things make sense but they do result in long delays where u just have to sit there in a hot car with no AC for indeterminate periods of time for sometimes over an hour after the time the ferry is scheduled to depart. Otherwise itβs a great location, friendly staff, but thereβs plenty of trolleys and shuttles available on the island so really recommend not bringing a car if you can avoid it, especially during summer heat. My phone died early into an hour and a half delay and they did not announce delay reasons or new ETAs over the loudspeaker so I did not have a way to keep up to date and had to just sit and wait.

Lovely little dock for the ferries. Easy walk off for a day scoping out the tiny town of Friday Harbor on foot! Just beautiful!!

While sitting in line waiting to board the Friday Harbor ferry to Anacortes today I couldnβt help but see that the mens and womens restrooms to the right of the lines were locked! Numerous people actually used the bushes to relieve themselves! Not cool at all to have these facilities locked especially when the ferry was delayed for almost an hour and one half.

Smaller ferry terminal. Fascinating to watch the islands pass by as the ferry cruises. π’β΄οΈποΈπ²

An hour before the ferry departure. If you are taking a dog with you an hour and a half.
It depends on the semi's total length in feet. The range is between $80 - $420. And if the total length is over 80 feet, then expect to pay $5.20 per foot.
The Lavender Farms.. All the beaches.. Whales.. OMG.. Spent alot of summers there and have family that lives there... So much to do...... I still find new and amazing places. Every time I go there... Go get lost in I still find new and amazing places. Every time I go there...
Yes..dogs are allowed at no extra cost. They prefer that they stay in your car (if driving on) or outside if walking on...but when its winter you can bring them inside as long as they are well behaved and always on leash.
Depends on size of vehicle and how many are in the vehicle.
4 blocks, all uphill
FH to Anacortes is a little under an hour. Stopping at Orcas adds another 20 minutes.
At least 20 minutes is best probably. Maybe 40 minutes during tourist season because on rare occasions it will fill up so people at the back of the line have to wait for the next one. Luckily there is plenty to see and do within walking distance.
