Holiday Inn Express & Suites Salem, an IHG Hotel

Staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Salem, Illinois was a thoroughly enjoyable and positive experience. Even though this was just an overnight stop on a long road trip, it was memorable because of the many ways that our expectations were exceeded. The facility is attractively decorated, and thoroughly clean. Both the common areas and the guest room were excellent in every way. The staff seemed to sincerely care about our comfort and happiness. We asked for a recommendation for a local (non-chain) place for dinner, and we were directed to a wonderful restaurant. The breakfast service was great. Even though it was very similar to the buffet seen at other Holiday Inn Express locations, there were special touches that helped to distinguish it from the others. We were not able to use the other common amenities (salt-water swimming pool, well equipped exercise room, or business center), but they were noticed ... and appreciated. Thank you for going the extra mile for our happiness and comfort.

We went for a friend Wedding and they get 100.We didn't have breakfast or swimming. The rooms are so quiet we love that you couldn't hear your neighbors like some since this was a new hotel. Our check in was fast and love Misty at the hotel desk.

I do not do reviews … but this hotel deserves to be recognized. My first impression walking in was that it was a brand new hotel - clean and modern - but it is some 6 yrs old. A number of years ago I had a couple unsatisfactory stays in a row at holiday inn express hotels (old hotels being rebranded when not truly up to standard) so I quit booking with them. I needed a dog friendly hotel on this trip so took a chance and booked this hotel. It has brought me back to looking first at Holiday Inns. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Everything about our stay was terrific! Room was clean and bed was comfy. The gentleman that gave us the room key was very nice. The breakfast choices were far more superior than other hotels we've stayed in. Well done!
