Very nice hotel in the South Loop. Area is not my favorite, but everything about the hotel is great. Room is not huge, but the space is enough to stay comfortable. Bed is great; I got lucky with a great view of the Willis Tower; bathroom is comfortable and spacious. I really like this hotel and the only thing I would improve are the elevators: sometimes it took me 5 minutes to go from the 22nd floor to the lobby. However, it was a great experience!

Felt compelled to write a review for the Blackstone. It far surpassed our expectations - it’s a beautiful and historic hotel in downtown Chicago with some of the best views we’ve ever had in any hotel room. The Lake View room is a must - there were amazing fireworks displays over Lake Michigan. The room is a great size, it’s comfortable, and the service is fantastic. Would highly recommend for a memorable trip to Chicago.

Beautiful hotel near the heart of Chicago. This place is amazingly built on an architectural level and decor style. Every detail is set is precision in this historic downtown hotel. The lobby, rooms, and restaurant/bar are all exquisitely designed. Parked right next to the lake and the pinnacle of Chicago this place is a great place to lay your head while taking in the city. A beautiful view and nothing shy of beauty in itself. Would recommend taking a weekend trip of not longer and setting this location as your point of return.

This was my first experience with The Blackstone and I really enjoyed it. Beautiful historic building, with very classic, sort of gentleman's club decor in the lobby mixed with some funky, statement type furniture. My room was a corner room with a city view...that meant that I was looking at the windows of other rooms in the same hotel on one side and downtown area on the other. To be honest, thanks to massive desk in front of it, I really couldn't enjoy that view, as you are still 4-5 feet away from the window. However the over all decor of the room was nice and modern. The bathroom was truly hotel shic beautiful, but not sure who designed the placement of the light switches, they are behind the door, so you have to walk in to the dark bathroom, walk around and at least partially close the door, and than try to find the switch in the dark. Weird set up, but I am nit-picking. I was not too impressed with a hotel staff. Not very helpful or overly nice/affectionate. They stayed professional but gave very sort of uninviting vibe, like they are doing what's expected of them, but please don't ask them for anything extra attitude. If not for that I would rate it at 5 stars. Friendliness, especially in a hospitality or any front facing customer oriented business goes a long way in my book and often covers other imperfections. This was the opposite, the beauty of the place made it for lacking in the staff department. Anyway, I will definitely stay here again, given the need, good price and just the love for the building.

What is the availability of parking and what is the cost per night?

Hotel parking is valet only and is very expensive, $75 per day. There are local parking garages that range in price quite a bit. There is an app to help locate parking garages and the price but I don't remember the name of the app. I took the train to the area near the hotel and used Uber from the hotel when needed. This was much more cost effective and more convenient.

Mercat, a tapas type restaurant up a beautiful staircase from the lobby... and a Starbuck's downstairs, which has an entrance on Michigan Avenue. Guests can enter Starbucks by taking the stairs or elevator to the lower level. Also, if you stay at the hotel, you can go to the 1600 Club for breakfast. It's on the lower level. A bit pricey.
