Only stay here If you're a bed bug hoping to make friends! I only stay at nicer hotels because my wife makes me... That being said, I've stayed at plenty of dingy motels cleaner than this. Bed bugs, pee stains (lord knows what else), food, dirt everywhere. I mean EVERYWHERE. After finding several bed bugs in our bed, we requested a new room, which ended up just as disgusting. I think I'll finally be able to talk my wife into staying at dingy highway-side motels again because it's probably a step up from this place.

The hospitality alone is 5 stars! Miss Carol is a delight. The management, the cleaning, the restaurant everyone was great. We were there for a baseball tournament and they were more than accommodating. Everything was clean. Management was hands on. We stayed at a Garden Inn Hilton in Knoxville TN a couple weeks ago and they were a 5 as Hickory was a 10. Hickory provided free coffee in lobby. Free laundry facility. This in only hotel I have been to ever that offered free laundry facility. But the polite, courtesy we were shown was bar none.

At first glance the property seems very nice and modern. Once into the rooms there a few details that show staff has not been spending as much time in upkeep. Remote control was filthy. Shower faucet did not work properly. Just needs work on small details.

I'm not sure what is going on with this hotel right now. I booked this hotel so my kids would have a pool to swim in and the adults could enjoy the hot tub. I've never stayed in a hotel where the indoor pool was this disgusting. The pool had green scum growing on the walls, people had written words like "wash me" in it, it was that thick. The hot tub was even worse. It had green scum on all of the sides and the floor, the word "gross" and "ditto" were written on its sides. The water in both had a green tint. Our room also had cleanliness issues. The bathroom door had a brown drips and splatters on it. Black smudged handprints on the doors and switches. There were dirt drips running down the bath/shower wall. The remote control to the TV was greasy with particles stuck on it and the chair had stains. Upon check out I let the front desk staff know. They apologized and said they would have checked into. I have a hard time believing we are the first to report this.
