DeEtte Day
This YMCA seems to be a day-care center. It is not designed for the physically disabled trying to maintain health. The pool is beautiful, but about 2 football fields from the parking lot - difficult for thise who experience pain. The pool life guards don't know the pool schedule (it's posted online but apparently invisible to employees). Customers must find pool management and request that they tell the lifeguards to prepare the pool according to the schedule. ONE swim is $20!! They are low on staff which means that they don't answer the phone or email. The staff also said that they cannot delete customer records with private information fr i.p.o m salesforce (the software tool that they use. However a quick search on google says that most contacts can be deleted from salesforce with one click. I understand that young receptionists may not know this, but I am hoping that they know how to type into Google.

Customer Service is non-existent. I paid for the YMCA app on my phone only to find out that no one manages the calendar on the app. We have to call ahead of time to ensure a basketball court is available for my daughter to train. We were told at sign-up that one court is ALWAYS made available for basketball yet we are often turned away. I've asked for clearer communication regarding the gym schedule several times and over several years now. Thanks for nothing, YMCA management!

Always clean, the staff is helpful. Lots of various equipment to work out on. Pool is in good shape never had an issue with cleanliness.
BG Rides
I've been going to this Y for the last couple years. It's still pretty new and the workout equipment is in really good shape. You pretty much get it all at this Y. If you want to lift weights, do cardio, run on the second floor track, rock climb, take exercise classes, swim, play in the lazy river, hot tub, sauna, basketball, racquetball, volleyball, clean towels and everything else this is the place. There's a kids play area that's sort of a day care if parents want to go work out.

I was told that it doesn't matter, as long as they pay the access fee
Yes there are. Drop in classes. Check the website's schedule.
Closed for maintenance. Should be open soon.
There is a full size punching bag and a speed bag. There are kickboxing workouts, but no actual boxing that I'm aware of.
I think so. Call the office and they can confirm
Please check out our website for membership cost information plus Y Experience Scholarships details. ymcapkc.org/join
Tour of YMCA should be free. If you can't/don't want to pay for membership, you and your family can go as guests, pay as you go. There's five for us in our family, we usually pay $25 or less to go swimming for all of us. Membership would probably be cheaper if you're going more often. If you go here/there, guest might be a cheaper option.
No. I am a volunteer. Laws require that no compensation can be given... discount would count as compensation

Yes, they do.
Ive been at the one in Sumner, at all different timesThe swimming area for 1y/o seems to be open at all times. It's more like an indoor water park. Theres at least 5 lifeguards in the swimming area at all times. Sometimes 6. The grown up pool is also in the same area as the childrens pool. I'm glad they are not separate like the one in Everett for example.. The only time adults seem to have an issue of course is when the kids are taking swimming lessons in the adult pool but that only seemed to be from hours 11am-2pm this summer.. But to get accurate information, I suggest you call them.
Hello, the pool will reopen on May 27. Thank you!
Yes you cannot do any thing there without registering or being a member
I am now wanting to know that answer as well, though I can no longer swim...
They open at 10am
I see a good many "senior" members swim laps, play pickleball, and generally participate in the Y classes and facility... I have not seen any postings for senior groups specifically. There could be, but if there are they are not overtly advertised. I suggest calling the Y directly to inquire about what types of groups are available.
Hello Janis, your YMCA Pierce and Kitsap Counties membership allows you access to all nine facility branches. Thank You!
Member dues are variable per size of family. We have 2 adults and multiple children... I think it's $133/mo. We also have child watch, this is a separate fee $35 for 2/hrs/day or $50 for 3/hrs/day. Child watch is unlimited children per your family under the age of 8 (infant thru 7yrs). If you have 8 and older, they may hang out in the teen room, which is staffed after school. The teen room is an included benefit. Member dues include registered activities for fitness and swim and all fitness classes. There is a minimal fee for registered arts classes (like $21 or so)
Yes they do. Call the front desk. My wife left her watch there and it was in the lost and found the next day.
https://www.ymcapkc.org/file_viewer.php?id=15054 Transitional Water Aerobics This class varies in the shallow and deep end of the pool. Open to all swimming abilities. Variety of equipment is used throughout the class to offer a workout for all. The class is a high energy class and …
I have seen signs outside the Y advertising this.
No. In the app it says holiday hours are Christmas Eve 7am-3pm. Closed Christmas. Opens again, 26th 7am-9:30pm.
I really don't know
According to their website: the Y has created a three-year transitional membership rate of $44 per month for current SilverSneakers®members.
I believe it's fifteen and up for free weights.
You should be able to see classes online as well.
I don't know either
I am not sure. You would have to call the facility.
There are charts by the computers near the front desk that has visitor activity for every day of the week graphed out.
No, you can sign a guest pass waiver. It costs $15 to come as a guest or $10 if your accompanied by a member.
The showers are always free
There's open swim all day long. With a couple of lap lanes open all the time.according to staff early morning or 12 to 3 before school lets out is best time for no kids. I was here on Sept 25th and asked the same questions.
