Very friendly hosts. Secure environment and Great manicured grounds . The delicious food leaves your mouth wanting more long after your stomach says enough!

this historic B&B, located in the Capitol Hill District and steps away from volunteer Park, is a great place to stay when visiting Seattle. The rooms are clean and well-maintained with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Breakfast is enhanced continental and coffee and tea and snacks are always left out for guests. I will definitely stay here again the next time I am visiting Seattle.

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast 10 minutes away from Pikes Market. Pros: - Safe neighborhood- many people walking - Beautifully furnished like right out of a movie - Breakfast fancy continental/ has variety Cons: -Street parking- there's no property parking your parking on the street and typically a few houses down -No control of the heater / AC in your room - Shelf check-in: you get a email with the door code, you walk into the house follow the instructions on which floor/corner. You find your room take the key off the door knob. Felt like I was trespassing a little vs having been like personally welcomed and checked in. That's a personal opinion wasn't hard just felt weird.... Would I go back yes ,I thought it was cute. My husband says no, the lack of room temp control and parking situation made him dislike it.

My husband and I have stayed at the Shafer Baillie Mansion several times, whenever we are in Seattle. It's a beautiful property, incredibly comfortable and welcoming with an excellent breakfast. And the location couldn't be better. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet near some great restaurants and you can take the light rail into town very easily, just walk up to Broadway. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

We suggest using a taxi, Uber, Lyft or you can take the light rail to Capitol Hill. We do not have a shuttle.
Mark Mayhle and Ana Lena Melka are the owners. Bought the Shafer Baillie Mansion in 2004.
