I have been in local 46 for 43 and it's been a great ride. There are ups and downs being a Electrican and the union is a big help to help you through the hills and valleys. The piece of mind of having great medical,dental and retirement makes raising a family ( 6 dependents in my case) less of a burden. The continuing education for little or no cost is great and keeps us on top of changes in the trade. I am retired now and make enough income we can enjoy the free time and not worry. IBEW has had my back through sick and poor,bad employers,L and I problems and the other things life and work throw at you. If you want to sit in a chair with no challenges the rest of your life this job is not for you.

This is a great place. I have worked both non-union and union... This place has saved me and made a huge difference in my life for the better. I will never go back to working non-union again. The IBEW hall regularly has events and activities. They are very involved in the community. Members are encouraged to attend meetings to stay informed of what happens in the union and to be able to make decisions and vote

You have to sign-up for out of work in person, (books) , then you will automatically resign if you log in and look at the jobs.(to bid on a job) , Dispatch can give your log-in information. But if you just to get on the robo-dial you can have a friend sign you up to be informed of what/when meeting are coming up. You can also call and they do have CEU classes on Saturday so anything you need can be left for you through a teacher...

Hi Luis, This is an inside wire local. You might be thinking of the outside wire, such as linemen? That would be IBEW Local 77.
As of February 4th it will be $22.47 on the check and $34.10 total package
Right now is $50.57 on the check plus benefits. Total package is around $73/hr
Wow, well Google maps isn't where you sign up for classes at IBEW local 46. If you go there though, during business hours, someone at the front desk will help you, whether or not you are a member.
