Honestly, I just had a wonderful experience over the phone. I had a problem with water quality, and they were thoughtful, responsive, asked around, and got me a reasonable and timely answer. Super friendly, super caring. I don’t think there is a single thing that they could have done better. I usually avoid writing reviews for anything, who has the time, but they were literally so nice and helpful I had to

Not sure if you guys record your phone calls or not, but if so, your general manager should really start listening to phone calls through the Supervisor (Sharon). I've never in my life had a worse experience, and I work in customer service myself. It is INCREDIBLY unprofessional (not to mention heartless) to yell at customers who are asking for help and recommendations. If your job stresses you out badly enough to lash out like that, at ANYBODY, it might be time to do some career (and soul) searching. When PUD replaced water lines in our street, and nicked our sewer line and caused a backup of raw sewage into our house, did I yell at anyone? Nope. Even though my family was forced to live in a home with raw sewage in the basement for over a week until it was repaired. If ANYTHING deserves a lash out, that's it. Not my phone call about clear miscommunication and confusion. Anyways, don't call PUD and speak with their supervisor about any type of misunderstanding, because she will do nothing but scream at you about "calling her employees liars". Horrific customer service skills, and clearly not great comprehension skills. Slow down, breath, listen to your customers instead of absolutely jumping down their throats when you clearly aren't understanding what they are telling you.

They charge a lot for water but we've never had any issues until recently. I read all of the reviews about people having their water turned off while being on auto pay. I turned on auto pay and for years never had a problem so I chalked it up to people not being able to figure the system out. NOT SO. I received my bill this month in the mail and noticed it was twice as much as normal and I had outstanding balances. Being wary from reading these reviews, I jumped onto my online account and found my auto pay had been TURNED OFF without notifying me. Moral of the story, I think the system times out on your autopay after a few years and you manually need to start it back up again. I don't think Skagit PUD is actively being malicious but it definitely is a major system flaw. Just keep an eye on your account because I bet it will happen to everyone eventually.

Horrible customer service. If you get stuck with Sharon, you might as well just give up now. She is a rude, uncaring woman and I'm amazed she is allowed to treat customers so horribly and talk to them in such a demeaning manner. Everytime I call and try to talk to somebody else it always goes back to Sharon or someone who is friends with sharon. And they are vocal about the friendship so you pretty much know you're screwed right off the bat. Why doesn't anybody hold these people to a standard? If the conversations would have been recorded I would have had proof of blackmail and discrimination. Somebody might want to look into doing that as well. I cant help but think they get away with things like this because of the simple fact that there is no other option for water. It's an abuse of power and it's not okay.
