Alteration is ridiculously expensive here. Alteration costs more than the price of the dress. I paid $80 to shorten a dress that costed me $40 (due to Nordstrom alteration credit). I went to pick up the dress, but it was still a bit too long. The tailor said “we had an agreement on the length the first time, I have to charge you again for shortening.” This was NEVER discussed the first time. I was never told shortening again would cost me again. If it’s the case, I think Nordstrom should have this statement listed to let your customers know. Trying it on after alteration is probably irrelevant, because THEY WILL CHARGE YOU AGAIN if you notice something is off. Oh, my dress was stained. I didn’t bother to mention it to the tailor. Also, be aware that the price varies drastically in different Nordstrom locations for the exact same dress alteration. This place charges $40 more than Santa Anita Nordstrom. I decided to give two stars. The tailor’s work is acceptable, but I won’t come back to alteration again.

I ABHOR driving. Having a Nordstrom Local in DTLA means I don't have to drive for order pickup and returns anymore. And that makes me THE HAPPIEST PERSON IN THE WORLD. I've been here half a dozen times, and every time I was promptly and graciously helped by the folks working here. Thanks and keep up the good work!

I asked for a button to be sewed, tailor ask me to wait 7 days. -10 rating I'll give if I would. You should seen the way he said it with confidence, so damn rude. Went to Richard's tailor shop, got it done in 20 seconds, staff was very nice,good and didn't charge.
