The staff at this Aesop were so helpful and accommodating. After I discovered a face lotion I was using had gluten in it, I was able to exchange it for one that was gluten free without any questions or hesitations. Would highly recommend!

Is it ethically permissible to purchase a bottle of hand cream for over $100 in a city where children often go without health care or predictable nutrition? For me this is the fundamental question I must ask myself when I shop here. The product is lovely, the creams and lotions smell and feel terrific. I feel great when I use them and I do use and endorse them. But is there a significant difference between Aesop and products that cost a tenth of the price? I don't know the answer.

I really like Aesop products and have been to several Aesop stores in other cities. This is by far the worst. I went in on Sunday, August 28, to buy some lotion for someone else who has oily skin. The sales person, a man with blond hair, refused to help me select a lotion because I did not know whether his skin is "oily in the morning or oily in the evening." What a joke! Even the website has products for "most skin types," so obviously he could have recommended a lotion that would work. This would never happen at any other Aesop store. I will never go back to this store and will probably never buy Aesop products again. Here is our entire conversation, which is oddly amusing because he was being so dense. Me: "Can you help me choose a face lotion for someone with oily skin?" Him: "Is his skin, like, very oily or just, like, oil?" Me: "I don't know, what's the difference?" Him: "Who's it for?" Me: "Why would that matter?" Him: "Well, is it oily in the morning, or oily in the evening?" Me: "I don't know. I don't even think he would know." Him: "Well, it's really important." Me: "Thanks anyway."

The ‘best before’ measure of your Aesop product is determined by the time of opening. The jar icon on the side of the label indicates the number of months the product will be at its best once open. For example, 12M equals one year from date of opening, 9M equals nine months from date of opening.
