Quick response after placing work order. While the work was minor, it was necessary and was handled quickly and efficiently.

It is an older property, but very clean and well maintained. The manager for building 1 is amazing. She is helpful, friendly and very kind all while running a tight ship. Her pleasant attitude trickles down to the residents. When you are here you can tell that the residents have become a big family because they help each other out and are always looking out for each other. It's a great place to be!

Unfortunately, my mother has lived here for 11 years and the environment gets worse every day. Complaints were made regarding the roof tiles that were missing and fear of possible water damage to her apartment. She was told they couldn't do anything unless it actually leaks. A few months later, my mother has water leaking over her bed and near the window. They finally had someone repair the roof tiles but no one put an exhaust fan in her apartment or in the crawl space over her apartment to dry up any excess water or dampness. The security door that is accessible with the use of a key only has been broken several times for extended periods of time allowing homeless and undesirables access into the building where random apartment doors were vandalized by attempted burglaries. I gave my mom a stun gun to protect herself. I sat in my mom's apartment so that there was someone present when the manager did her inspection. A week later my mom received a notice to vacate because she had "unauthorized people living in her apartment that violated her lease". I asked the manager why she would go to the main office and tell that lie and she denied she said anything - she was the only one there doing the inspection mind you. They stopped doing "Give and Take" due to possible spread of critters and because they use the community room to eat in but Jo the manager allows her daughter to set up in there like a barber shop and cut tenants hair. Now tenants received notice that there is a charge for batteries (and they must be from SHAG) for the fire alarms in their apartments, there is also a charge for replacing lightbulbs in the stove, refrigerator, ceiling fixtures and bathroom fixtures, there is a charge to install a bar in the bathtub to prevent accidental falls, there's a charge to replace blinds, there's a charge to replace exhaust filters over the stove and much more. Should a tenant pass away or be moved to an assisted living facility, the manager Jo alerts the tenants who brown nose up to her and they go and get first choice of any of the belongings left in the apartment. And if you are not one of Jo's flunkys, you are ostracized and rumors start floating through the building like it's a junior high school. Rent is supposed to be 40% of the tenant's income, however when I do the math on my mothers, it's a little over 80% of her income. I've contacted the Tenants Union because their front office manager is a joke, Jo the back office manager only helps her flunkys and uses them as spies to spy on other tenants, and the Corporate office never responds to emails or phone calls. PLEASE - IF YOU VALUE AND LOVE YOUR FAMILY - DON'T MOVE INTO THIS BUILDING!!!!!

Quarterly inspections, overrun with gossip and laundry facilities usually broken. We got evicted for housekeeping, never a safety issue. We were good tenants, paid our rent, were quiet yet friendly. Building managers doing the best they can, it's corporate not able to keep good campus managers in front office. This SHAG community is the only SHAG community to take Western State and mental patients from the hospitals and blend them with decent individuals. Not a healthy environment for anyone. Do not recommend for anyone.

I live there so can't snswer for them. All I know is they have an application process to qualify you. My rent for a two bedroom is $1070 with cable, $1025 without. I looked at a one bedroom and it was around $825. I think. But it may be less for disabled. You cam call them. Just Google Shag Auburn Court.
