Possibly the best ice cream store in the world. Incredible flavours with lots of innovation. So impressed with them I bought their recipe book at Powell’s. I’m very lucky to be staying nearby and I’ve been able to walk down every night to try all the flavours. It’s always packed with people queuing up down the street. They’ve inspired me to open my own ice cream shop in Australia. These are my people.

I had their limited flavor of Rose watermelon ice cream and it was surprisingly good. The watermelon really threw me off and I thought it would be decent but it really beat my expectations. I'm currently in line at a different Salt n Straw to get the same ice cream flavor only to be sad because they didn't offer it. I highly recommend you try the Rose before the flavor is no longer offered or before it sells out. They also offer it as a shake!

In Portland for a day and this is the first time we drove by and there was NOT a long line at the original location. After a day of exploring Portland this was the perfect way to end our night. Ancho Chili Cinnamon Toasted Squares and Chocolate Gooey Brownie, perfect combo! 3 of us ordered and we all loved what we had. I was surprised, my wife's Pear and Blue Cheese combo was really good too even though I initially thought it wasn't going to be.

Great ice cream. Bought a souvenir cup and ordered a milkshake. They put the milkshake in my cup (after cleaning it) which was perfect since the portion was more than I could eat at once. I placed the cup in the freezer and the milkshake maintained an excellent texture. 10/10 visit. I definitely recommend buying one of their cups if getting a milkshake.

They require masks, do not take cash, and you have to take tastes and eat cones outside.
I'm sure there's a sign somewhere in there that answers this but can't remember now.. But the great staff will be more than willing to answer that. If it were me I'd call and find out :)
You can just buy them and head to the line and get going
People in line almost never know what they want. So they all have to wait until sampling several flavors before deciding. It's also an opportunity to upsell. So it's not in their best interest to allow ordering ahead of time. If you know what you want for a pint, you can already skip the line by going straight to the fridge and then to the cashier.
