I have always had a great experience with the Cowlitz County Humane Society. I adopted my cat from here on 8/11/2019 - best cat ever. There was an elderly cat living under neath my shed during the winter of 2019 and the Humane Society took him in and he was adopted out. Lastly, I unfortunately found a passed away cat in my backyard. Poor cat looked like he was just asleep. The Humane Society picked him up and took care of it. I was very nervous to have to get rid of the cat as it made me so sad. So thankful to have had them respond in a timely manner to my request. Go adopt all the animals here!!!

I have tried three times to get a dog. I sent in my application, and let them know when I’m interested in a dog, and don’t hear anything back for a week or more. By the time they write back, the dog has already been adopted. Their process to email when interested in a dog is extremely flawed. I check the website multiple times a day and email immediately when interested in an animal, so is not like I’m waiting too long and the dog is taken. I’ve always gone through humane societies to get my dogs and this has been the worst I’ve ever worked with. Highly recommend you don’t waste your time here.

Just adopted our sweet baby today from Cowlitz kitty corner today!! Staffs are really nice and of course cats are extremely adorable 😍 I strongly suggest to make appointment in advance and come to see those cute babies even you’re not interested in any of them based on the picture on the adoption website. Once you come here you I’ll find out they are all really cute and sweet, and some kittens will snuggle you even when you first saw them! 🌟adoption over purchase🌟

Hello, The fee varies based on the aftercare of the pet. Please call the shelter to discuss prices and scheduling an appointment. The number is (360)577-0151!
I believe so, they would at least have info on where someone could get hello if they don't offer it. All adoptable pets are spade and neutered.
I love these people they are truly great and i appreciate them so yes good place.
Yes on the website look under adoptable dogs
Hello, At this time we are doing adoptions by appointment only! Please visit our website cowlitzhumane.com to submit an application!
Hello, We do offer cremation services. The fee depends on the weight of the pet. For more information please call the shelter at (360)577-0151.
Yep, they have a lot of different animals there :) and they seem to be friendly there also
Hello, Please give us a call at (360)577-0151, and ask to speak with our director so we can discuss these issues further.

Cats and dogs I assume
Hello, Please call the shelter at (360)577-0151!
Yes we do also a Local guy called Better Goodbyes will come 2 your home to Euthanize very compassionate Vet .
It's $60.00
Hi! I just adopted from them on the 17th. You just need to send in a adoption application to their email, which is on their website or you can call and make an appointment. They are not doing walk ins at the moment. At least at KittyKorner. I hope this helps!
We do not have the holding capacity for animals such as bulls, but often have goats, and have even had llamas
I believe it is a 72 hr hold and then they are spayed or nutered and put up for adoption.
Hello, Unfortunately the Humane Society and Animal Control does not handle wildlife. I would recommend reaching out to Fish and Wildlife and seeing what programs they may have in place. If you have any other questions please call the shelter at (360)577-0151.
I would suggest that you call the humane society and ask them what they can do or see if they can work with you.
Hello, We need more information to help. Please call animal control at (360)577-0151 Ext 2. They are open from 9-5pm today.
Let him go
If you live in the city you need to call the Humane Society and if you live in the county you need to call CC Sheriff's department.
We have a low income spay and neuter 50 female 35 male if you qualify
Call and ask.
Yes, in the main lobby there is a shelf where you can collect small bags of dog food. Ask before you pick them up, just in case
Best bet would be call state patrol they have access to after hours numbers for fish and game
We are a shelter that’s avoids killing at all costs, and only kills when the animal has no other option
At this time we do not. We recommend checking with the local feed stores as they often have them for relatively inexpensive.
yes actually I believe you can. Just give them a call. I know they must be scheduled before you bring your cat down.
No adoption prices are listed on the website. :)
Adoption fees vary. Most adult dogs are $200, Puppies are $300 and senior dogs are $75.
The humane society of Cowlitz County. There is usually no fee but they do ask for a donation.
Awww you got me on that one lol. I guess just call down there.
Just give them a call im sorry for your loss
Yes there is. I'm not sure how much it is. But they are very caring and great with the process.
As far as im aware there isnt a surrendering fee
Call and ask.
Yes
You should call them directly, check the website or look online at the Southern Washignton Humane Society, they post photos of most dogs available. However I'd suggest to consider all breeds, not just shepards. German Shepards are beautiful dogs with wonderful personalities but so are many other large breed dogs. There is an abundance of American terrier mixs (pit bull mixs) and in my experience they make excellent, loving, loyal pets. Either way, I'm sure you'll find the right pet.
I'm not sure about paid opportunities, but it couldn't hurt to contact them and ask about volunteer opportunities.
Are you looking for a cat?????
No wonder shelters are full if this information about the cost of adopting is true. Not many people can afford that much:(
Call and ask, but unless you're fostering for them, I don't think so.
I agree with Debra. I'd give them a call on Monday.
Yes and no
Call the cops
I just dialed the regular number, and since it's after hours got a recording which gave me three different options. Number one was for if you've lost your dog, 2 was if you lost your cat, and 3 was for an emergency. That's when I hung up on the recording, because I thought that was basically the answer to the question. Call the regular number and hit number three when prompted. EMERGENCY!!!
Call animal control they can go out
Yes. I fostered a dog for a week and then adopted him. It's a neat program. We were able to figure out if he would be a fit for our family.
This shelter will only put down an animal if it is aggressive or hopelessly ill, or in some similar situation. They have had dogs and cats live there for a year while they tried to find them homes. Clearly animals are not put down simply because they are unable to find them forever homes immediately. I would say they are a no-kill shelter.
If you qualify for the low income discount, neutering is 35 dollars
Do you still have the ferrets?
Riverside
Any time during open hours
But I will respond. The guidelines to which they are required to work within are the problem. Yes, very sad but it's not because they won't help in situations we think they should, it's because they simply can't. I'm sorry but that's just how it is.
No.
They threatened me to plead or they was going to keep him they hurt him bad.
Once in a while, there are various breeds of rabbits. Most are just there for medical issues, not for adoption
