It was better than I thought. But all I was there for is to pickup my EBT card because I already did everything over the phone. I was there for 30 minutes and it only took 1 minutes to get my card 🙄

The phone recording is so garbled you cant understand a word of it. Of course theres not a live person that answers and the office is closed to the public. Ive been calling for a couple days now, guess ill send a letter. Maybe that will get a response.

It was a hot mess I was in between going to school from Everett to Federal way then to Auburn I was homeless sleeping on people's couches with my son trying to better my situation the caseworker basically told me to go find my child's father they wouldn't be able to do anything for me unless I did trying to force me to get a lease from a vacant apartment Monica works in the front office she's very manipulative she got into it with my mother before when she recognize who I was she tried to call me out of orientation when I sit down with the worker he put me on speaker it was just horrible I don't encourage anyone to go into this office especially if you're of colored

Yes, there's an easy way to do it. https://www.washingtonconnection.org/home/
You have to go talk with them and they can direct you where you need to go.
They're open by appointment only call the # in the window and they will mail it to you and if you're homeless you can an appointment to pick it up
It’s Housing and Essential needs, it’s very difficult to get approved for this program you have to be mentally or physically disabled. You have to first get approved for the aged, blind or disabled program and then do whatever DSHS requires of you in a timely fashion and once on the program you have to do a number of things to stay eligible like apply for SSI in a certain amount of time, go to treatment and provide treatment verification monthly. It really depends on what your disability is. If there is any possible way you can work even part time you will not get approved for this program. But if you do get approved it lasts for one year in most cases and you will get a voucher sent you your landlord to cover a portion of your rent each month and you can get supplies like dish soap, toilet paper and toothpaste once a month, you can also get a bus voucher or you can get a gas card. But the program is temporary and meant to help until you either get on your feet or you get on SSI.
I would call. For cards you usually have to go to your location for intial pickup. Not sure about the voucher
if i remember correctly, dshs only issues discount vouchers for state ID cards, not DLs. i could be wrong; give dshs a call.
All you need to do is go walk in to your nearest DSHS office you will get an answer.
With a week.
Yes.. but go in to do it. I almost never get a hold of these guys.
Go to Seattle and get an ombudsmen they offer free services.
Usually when someone wants to for apply cash or food samps he/ she goes to the nearest DSHS and checks in at the front office. Then he/she is asked to wait depending on the case and how many people are a head of you.so walk ins are usually not a problem. On the other hand there si website You Can Apply through.
