I had a potential water leak and wanted to get a new roof installed instead of trying to repair it and I also wanted to get some gutters replaced and have the gutter guard installed so I did not have to clean my gutters again. Time was of the essence. Do to the potential timeframe in getting this done, I called 6 roofers and left voice messages asking for a call back to discuss my needs. Out of all 6 roofers, I only had one return my call and this was within 10 minutes of leaving my VM. I spoke with Kevin and had a great chat about my urgency and what I needed. This was late in the day also and just the fact that Kevin returned my call after normal business hours was amazing. He met me the very next day after work to give me a bid. The bid was lower than I expected for everything and given the very good first impression, I decided their to accept the bid. I was also added to the list for completed the job the very next day. The crew came out ON TIME the day we had scheduled and replaced my roof, were very profession and courteous and was finished by that afternoon. I will say, I was home from work the day they installed my roof and was actually shocked to see the area around my home was kept cleaned up and when finished, you would never have known I had my roof replaced that day. It was spotless!! Two days later, the gutter crew came out and did the work on my gutters and I was finished. This was by far the easiest thing I have ever had fixed on my home. The company was SO easy to work with, priced very well and very professional. I HIGHLY recommend anyone using Neill and Son roofing, it will save you time and hassle and make your life much easier. When it comes to big purchases -- a home, new car, renovations and/or ROOFING -- I'm the kind of guy who collects walk-thrus, test drives and quotes like my kid collects Pokemon cards. Few things feel as awful as that 5k+ buyer's remorse as these are somethings you end up having to live with and see for years, afterwards. So, when it came time to replace our roof, I lined up the pros, one after the next, to acquire from each, what I'm a little too-proud to have coined the three-P's. Promptness, Price and Product - in my personal order of importance. 1. Was the company quick to respond? Were they quick to schedule and complete the install? (a tough find, these days) 2. Is the price reasonable or, even better, a bargain for the materials and quality of workmanship provided? 3. Again, the materials and craftmanship. This is my roof. My family resides under it. Does the shingle-brand they use pop up in a Google search of the top ten, American-made? How's that guaranty and warranty? Will the completed install look like a cover of Better Homes & Gardens or one of those homes we've all seen with ocean wave-like, thumb tacked sets of (what seems like) corkboard drink coasters? So, the pros came, presented their presentations and, in the end, Neill & Son, in all these facets, leapt by the rest by a pretty wide margin. We're out of pocket far less than we were expecting. Our home looks amazing. There was an instant change in temp/insulation. And - so important - there are no more leaks!

The short answer is YES! Generally speaking, if your roof is beginning to leak in multiple places it needs to be replaced. Roofing repairs can be expensive, and they it does not insure that other parts of the roof will remain sturdy. After many years of experience, we recommend giving us a call and letting us analyze the situation. If a repair will fix the situation then we are happy to help. However, we have noticed a trend over the years that when a roof begins to leak, it is a sign that it is getting to the end of its useful life. Naturally, there are a few factors that can lengthen or shorten the life of your roof, but in general, an asphalt roof can be expected to last about 20 years, while a metal roof will last a conservative 50 years. Neill and Son Roofing offers a 50 year asphalt shingle, which is stronger than the typical 20 year shingle. You can expect these shingles to last longer than usual, but normal wear and tear will still occur. Things like climate, extreme weather, and maintenance can affect the lifespan of your roof. If you live in an area that regularly gets heavy snowfall or high winds, your roof might take a bit more wear and tear than is standard. Alternatively, roofs that are regularly inspected, maintained, and washed can be expected to last a bit longer.
