Great place, somewhat crowded but that's expected on a hot summer day. Lifeguard was on duty for the new docks kids can jump off of. Dog friendly! Although signs say no dogs on the beaches after 10am although no one yelled at us and I seen many nice dogs relaxing and swimming.

This is a great place to take the family, especially in the summer. There are always a lot of people swimming so be prepared for a crowd on a hot day. The new docks are great and I appreciate that they have life guards now as well. There are sand volleyball courts, a playground, rentals for stand up boards and kayaks, a snack and ice cream vendor, picnic tables and plenty of space to find a spot for a picnic.

Love the clean up they did and the addition of the floating docks for the kids. One of our favorite places to swim especially with kids.

Always great specially when I take my dog for a walk and play with other dogs and swimming all before 10:00 am before the public comes over they can run without a leash, then during the day my kids and friends love to go play volleyball and splash after and always something fun to do we are disappointed though, of the closure to jump from the bridge (the best place to learn how to do so)😜if you own or rent ( there) paddle board that's a good place to ok earn or just go for another adventure, or kayaking or boating and I can't wait until they open the gym for events such is The Rock and Gem Show, or The Mushrooms Show or The Basketball Games for people in wheel chairs, or fundraisers for all the family....(Beware of the duck poop) around the shore specially early in the morning before the maitainance person comes over.

Julius Harold Bloedel (March 4, 1864 – September 21, 1957) was an American businessman.Born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Bloedel moved from Wisconsin to Fairhaven, Washington (later Bellingham) in 1890, where he became president of Fairhaven National Bank. He engaged in several frontier business ventures, including the Samish Lake Lumber and Mill Company, Blue Canyon Coal Mines, and, as mentioned, the Fairhaven National Bank. He partnered and worked closely with the Bellingham pioneers. Although many of these operations folded eventually, Bloedel's financial know-how managed to keep him afloat through a series of boom-and-bust economic trials. In August 1898, he founded the Whatcom Logging Company with fellow frontier businessmen John Joseph Donovanand Peter Larson, which would later become known as the Bloedel-Donovan Lumber Mills. A park with this name exists today in Bellingham, which sits on the site of Bloedel's first lumber mill, which he dedicated as a park in 1946
Think so but you would need to contact the rowing Association at the building at the edge of the parking lot. It is not through the Parks and Recreation Department
