Unbeatable for a beer in New York. Very nice atmosphere.

I was advised this little bar all the way to drink a beer 🍺 at a fair price. I was not disappointed, there are almost only locals and there is a nice atmosphere. I even spent 30 minutes chatting with James (a client) who, like many Americans, likes to chat and get our opinion on the world. The walls are covered with pictures of boxers with the boss.

We visited this bar today near Times Square. The bartender (who was very nice) made a comment that he went to the University of Washington, because he saw our Seahawks shirts. I told him he must have had a good GPA to get in there. Our oldest daughter had a 4.0 gpa and graduated from UW. Our younger daughter could not get accepted there because her GPA was only 3.85. But I mentioned that my daughters good friend was able to get into UW because she was from Thailand (a minority in Seattle), and she was able to get in with a 2.5 GPA. I said nothing about wether I agreed with that policy or not. Simply stated a 100% fact. The reason I brought it up was that I thought maybe there was a similar policy for those out of state students as there is for minorities. The younger guy behind the bar was helping stock. He turned and loudly started yelling rudely at my wife and I. He yelled “NO POLITICS IN THE BAR”… I never said a thing about politics or if I agreed with the policy or not. He just got a thrill out of humiliating us I guess. Definitely won’t be back to this bar, and it put a huge damper on our New York experience. Unbelievable! Again though, the bartender was at least nice! The rude guy stocking was the manager I believe.

It is a typical boxer pub! Very small, always well attended, music is running in the background! Mixed audience! We stayed in NYC 8 days in November, stayed there twice and had a wonderful evening! At the first visit even the boxing legend personally met! Highly recommended, visit the next NYC, I will be back!
They only serve drinks and nothing else besides photographs all over the wall of boxing champions. Jimmy expired and his nephew Karim runs the place along with Leanne and Jamie
You might be able to sit in the back but it's a bar
Pretty sure it's 21yrs and over only.
They have 📺 but not sure about showing sports. It's a dive bar but very welcoming and very cheap for times square 👍
