Sylvan has provided a fun learning experience that is tailored to my child. She enjoys going, there's no arguing or forcing her to go, she likes the work she does and enjoys the teachers. They have a good rewards system set up to keep students engaged. They also provide feedback to show the progress your child is making and what they will be working on in the future.

When we first started at Sylvan my daughter did not believe she was any good at math. The staff at Sylvan was able to help her strengthen the core skills for fifth grade and build her confidence in learning math. The flexible hours including weekends make it easy.

I am for the most part satisfied with Sylvan of Tacoma. My son does not like school. He claims to not like Sylvan but I know he definitely enjoys it more than school and more than what he lets on. He doesn’t complain about it and he works hard at improving for his instructor Mr. David. My son has been at Sylvan for a couple years now and I’ve seen a big improvement in his reading. Sylvan of Tacoma has been very flexible with scheduling even through the pandemic. I really appreciate the fact they have worked with me to find a day and time that works for my family while staying online. I would highly recommend any Sylvan that is ran by Gail. She is very friendly and try’s so hard to make sure everyone is accommodated.

Wish I would have started my teenager at Sylvan sooner! After just a few months we've already seen math grades improve and gaining confidence. The staff are fantastic and extremely patient. They made an effort to pair my child with the teacher they thought would be the best fit personality-wise. If I call the center about my child both Gail (Center Director) and Valerie (Director of Education) automatically know who they are and provide me observations and feedback on how they are doing during the tutoring sessions. Couldn't ask for a better partner for tutoring!

We can help ESL students improve the skills that they have. We do not teach the English language from the ground up, but we do help students improve their vocabulary, comprehension and writing skills.
Our programs are designed to work best with ages 5 - adult.
In determining your tutoring budget, please consider that at Sylvan you are hiring a team of professionals to assess your child's needs, design and implement a program to specifically address those needs and to provide on-going monitoring and measurement of the program's success. We also provide a professional learning environment and all materials, including resources such as manipulatives, textbooks, computers and more. Parents typically pay between $300-$500 per month depending upon their child's needs and program goals.
Our range is $22-$60 per hour depending on the tuition plan chosen. Parents typically pay anywhere from $275-$400 per month.
Absolutely!
I believe Kindergarten, but I'd call and ask Gail. She is the center director.
