Now is the best time to buy a house... Interest rates are low increasing your purchasing power and prices are still trending up. That means you get more house for your money and gain equity due to increasing prices, which don't seem to be stopping any time soon. As far as the time of the year... some agents will say the market is seasonal... in Atlanta our winters are mild enough that it doesn't slow down the market significantly enough to make a difference. Atlanta proper is a good place for that for several reasons. It’s centrally located which is good for business location. Also, demand is low so there is less competition in this market vs the single family residence in the suburbs. Of course it would also depend on someone’s individual situation! That depends on what your unique real estate and financial goals are. Some people are looking for more affordable options such as tiny or even mobile homes so purchasing land and putting something like that on there is the better option for them. Other people might need more space for a growing family or certain features that only a single family residence will provide so buying an existing home would be better in that case.
