So much fun! Spectacular views! Great food! A fun and entertaining crew of 2 that made their unremarkable alcohol taste good and helped us all enjoy a wonderful evening! Definitely reccomend!

What a beautiful time we had celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary. The food was simple but amazing. The boat was clean and the crew were lovely and polite. Shout out to Captain Gracie she was amazing. Slice of heaven with a crab leg. We are locals and we will be taking this trip again. Not to long, not to short. Always bring a light jacket and cover those legs it gets a little chippy out. Now go buy your tickets you can thank me later. Teena

Was THAT a Whale? Because I'm not sure (sarcasam). While there were a few sightings, the boat was so far away from the whales they looked like a speck in the water. I wasn't the only one complaining. While other cruise lines, including Odyssey, was IN the whale action, San Juan Cruise boat seemed to be going AROUND it. This was my first cruise and sorry to say but it will be the last with San Juan. Apparently, there were a few Humpbacks! Well...let's just say they looked like rocks protruding from the water, again, because of the distance. Stayed far out on the outskirts on that one as well. And the liner actually stopped for us to see it! LOL Throughout the whole cruise time passengers were yelling to one another when they spotted something because we were not able to see the whales without someone else pointing them out to us. Couldn't even get a decent picture unless you had a long lens camera. Even if you zoomed all the way in - (like I did, yes I have a newer really good phone) -- you still could not get a good shot. Awful. My kids were disappointed as well. You need a long lens professional camera or binnoculars to see the whales. They do provide binnoculars with ID and I can understand why. On the positive side, the bar, food, and cruise ship was a 5-star. And the bathrooms were really nice. I was impressed up until the whale sightings. But I paid to see the main event, the whales, which is what the star rating is for. So here's the BEST ZOOMED IN picture I've got out of about a hundred! See if you can spot the whale. Happy Hunting! Just got home from it. Took the cruise on 5/29/2022

We’ve taken San Juan cruises before but this one in late September was our first for whale watching. The staff and crew are very good at their duties and the skipper Casey was very informative with local history and other points of interest. Out at the west side of San Juan Island we had a real treat to view three humpback whales and then several male orcas from N or J pods. That we were able to view more than one whale species on a cruise was said to be a rare occurrence. We highly recommend San Juan cruises for anyone wishing to have a tour of the islands and local waters and wildlife viewing.

We see whales throughout the summer months (May through September). The chances of seeing orca and humpback whales stays pretty consistent throughout the summer, while May and September usually offer chances to see gray whales as well.
