Had a really scary situation take place tonight involving vandalism and threats from a stranger, BPD was swift in responding and arrested the individual within the hour. Our family is grateful for the officers in our city of Bellingham. Thanks for keeping us safe. God Bless and Take Care!

This morning I observed a young man with mental health and or drug issues on Lincoln St near Whole Foods. There were 2 officers talking to this young man. Their voices were gentle and sympathetic. They were able to transport him...hopefully to the hospital. To the 2 gentleman thank you.

Had a very mixed experience. They refused to give me back my change, even though there was no signs stating that change would not be given, and the lady never stated that before I paid her. It was only a few dollars, but working minimum wage, that turns out to be a lot. Also, why should I have to pay to be fingerprinted when I pay taxes? I understand paying for each print card, but paying for the overall process, why? With all this said, the good part of the experience was that the finger printing lady was very kind and pleasant. Kudos to her.

BPD has some truly amazing officers. Some of them truly are the epitome of what law enforcement officers should be. For those, I am eternally grateful. Those officers have made a real and positive difference in our community. Unfortunately for them and especially for us, there are others who have absolutely NO business wearing a badge! I am a person with ZERO criminal history. I don't even have questionable history. This is also my home town. Meaning it's quite easy for an officer to run my name and see I'm a law abiding citizen. However, there are officers on staff who clearly don't care if you deserve to be treated like a criminal or not. I had such a horrible experience with a Bellingham Officer and his abuse of power, I now feel it may be safer to take my chances fighting a home intruder on my own than call BPD for assistance. That feeling devastates me. Not only does this fact make it harder for citizens but imagine how much harder it is for the good officers to do their jobs. The community has reason to be afraid of dealing with law enforcement. It's very concerning. I am so glad BPD FINALLY purchased and uses officer body cams! Anyone with that kind of authority needs to be monitored since being honest and professional is not as much a given as it once was.

Yes I'm one of those foster kids. Bellingham Pd brought up my past, instead of help me they cause cps to take my child all based on lies
Call 911 if you want to report it... Or do nothing if it's not bothing you.
I would recommend reporting it as its a very important piece of identification
