I like the church and have been going for 4+ years now but I can't take the freezing cold anymore. It's like torture sitting through the service trying to huddle and stay warm. Even in the winter the AC is always on maximum volume. The temperature is always more comfortable outside than inside. I wear an undershirt, long sleeve shirt, and a light jacket right now with jeans and I'm still very cold inside the church. If anyone is reading this please raise the temperature. I'm sure I'm not the only one suffering. I'm suspicious it's this cold inside to force the women who attend to dress more "appropriately." Pastor Anthony who I really like made a comment in a sermon that he did this at his previous church in Florida.

Dr. Charles Stanley was the instrument God used to lead me away from a lifetime of Roman Catholicism to knowledge of the true Triune God of the Bible. I attended FBA regularly for several years pre-pandemic, but more recent visits have shown me that much has changed, and not for the good. I once shared the confidence Dr. Stanley placed in Dr. Anthony George to be his chosen successor. He, like Dr. Stanley, is a deeply gifted and knowledgeable expositor of Scripture. But, since he assumed full control of the Pastorate, he has become aggressively and nakedly partisan to the point of being toxic. Dr. Stanley devoted his life to spreading the truth of the Gospel globally, and the Holy Spirit "filled the house" whenever he preached at FBA. But, helping free the lost from spiritual bondage is apparently not enough of a mission for Dr. George. He just can't help himself from demonizing democrats, walking off a cliff with Donald Trump, and recently using his pulpit to prop up a hypocritical stooge like Herschel Walker. Jesus's earthly ministry was never about purifying political discourse or ensuring that only "the right people" hold office. And that was never what Charles Stanley was about either! I wonder if Dr. George has any idea how much Satan has cleverly stymied the talent and opportunity God has given him to both "grow the kingdom" and carry on the tremendous legacy of his predecessor. I pray that the scales will one day fall from his eyes, and that he comes to understand that no one goes to church to hear an evangelical version of Tucker Carlson, but rather to find Christ and grow in Him.

Absolutely the best Church you could ever imagine going to... Experiencing the TV dr. Stanley only touches the periphery of how good the experience is being inside the church and mixing with dr. Stanley's parishioners! You will not find a more welcoming loving and vibrant Church! I only wish I lived close enough to go there every week ... dr. Stanley is everybody's fantasy dad "man how good I could have have been..."

They haven't posted the preaching schedule for that date yet so keep checking the website. There are plenty of seats available. If Dr. Stanley isn't preaching then Dr. George will be and he is a wonderful speaker as well. So come join us either way.

Yes! I don't have small children. But because of the importance of our youth, I always tend to look for youth attendance, attention, participation and response. The numbers are high...love it!!
Dr Stanley will not be preaching on Sunday the 6th, however Jan 13,20, and 27th he will be preaching.I hope to be there on the 13th for my first visit, I recently relocated here from Calif and I look forward to seeing Dr. Stanley for the 1st time, he has taught me so much through the TV for years.God bless him a true man of God.

Anyone who acknowledges that they are a sinner, that Jesus died and rose from the grave to cover the sins of the world, and asks Jesus to be their Savior can be saved. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. We are all going to die, but having eternal salvation through Jesus means life unending in Heaven. I look forward to worshipping and praising God for eternity. Not all "churches" believe this. Find a church that preaches the Holy Bible, such as First Baptist Atlanta and you will be forever changed.
The services in Spanish are in the chapel that is located on the first floor and have them at 10:45 every Sunday. There are also Spanish Bible studies at 9 on the third floor. Welcome.

Services are 9:00 & 10:45. Minimum of 15 minutes before service. I ho to 9:00 service . It is a little less crowded than the 2nd service. Leaving the 2nd service is also a lot of traffic since worship is ending also 2nd Sunday School is ending at the same time. Half of the first services stay for Sunday School, so traffic is less. If you are coming to first service, let me know & I am happy to meet you. I am in the 6th row from front center of row.

The website isn't always correct. Sometimes Dr. Stanley's health doesn't always allow him to preach the service even if he had intended to. Concerning the idea of visiting Andy Stanley's church instead of First Baptist Atlanta, I suggest you look him up on YouTube 1st. He also has a unique way of preaching & does not mimick his father's style in any way. I can tell you this, you will be welcomed & well received at FBA.

Call the church and ask. Even that is not a guarantee, it all depends on how Pastor Stanley feels. I came from NY and planned like 3 months in advance and was told he would be preaching the weekend I was there, but then Pastor Stanley could not make it due to health issues or tiredness at the last minute. But I enjoyed the service either way. God bless!

The c h urch is actually in Dunn Woody which is borderline to Atlanta. From Hartsfield I would say less than 30 minutes. I will be there next Sunday. My daughter in law sings in the choir. Its First Baptist Atlanta but its actually in Dunn Woody...I know 😊

Yeah, first thing you should check the schedule online to make sure he is preaching that particular Sunday. and I would show up about 40 min early if you want a guaranteed seat up front. Enjoy!

I believe you would need to contact the office for that. Every once in a while, if you're out in the hall just after the 1st or 2nd service you can meet him while he's going back to his study but it's up to him and all of his security guards. Also Dr. Anthony George is an awesome teacher. My family and I love him! He is equally as great a teacher as Dr. Stanley. Both of them keep you on your toes just in different ways.

It's impossible to estimate bc the church can be full then there's people in overflow and people in classes during service. There's so many classes its gotta be at least 20 going on at once so...but it doesn't feel too big like a mega church or too small like a small town church. It's just right.
