Edit as of 9/7/2022: after speaking to upper management, efforts have been made to rectify previous said situations not only for my personal situation as a representative for the organization as a volunteer as well as participant benefiting from the organization’s support group services, I am satisfied with the authentic conversations that have been had with regarding true feelings on how to improve for the sake of our community without bias and how the organization allows conversations to be had that are not always positive but able to be utilized for the sake of room for improvement which solidifies the reason for why anyone whom seeks services should possibly take into consideration a role in volunteering and/or utilizing such services for themselves or others. ***Disclaimer: my statement is of my own, but not representative only of this particular organization and I highly recommend that anyone takes the chance to experience this organization with their own experience separately of my own. —— below is previous initial post of my true observation. efforts have made saddens me that this organization has such potential, but they seem to operate more like a business for profit then as a “non-profit”. There is a high level of unprofessionalism and very disorganized. Many of the “so-called” leadership shows favoritism amongst their peers, they do not seem to truly care about the mental health community and in fact appear to have a strong bias and display of discriminatory behavior. There is a reason that there is a high turnover rate from support group participants, volunteers, and staff. If you even try to get a situation rectified, it falls on death ears. I honestly hope that they will change someday, but over the years it just gets worse.

You give them a call with a crisis situation and like most things in Georgia the resources are not there!!! They can’t even answer the phone in a timely manner..... shame on them

I started going to the family support group in Johns Creek 3mo ago and then started the Family to Family 12week course. What a positive difference it has made dealing with my loved one. I'm sorry for those that had a bad experience because this is beyond the hardest thing I've ever dealt with. Please don't give up and try to find the help you need!

How often do you talk to your grandson. The best way to get back into his life is showing your support on his choices that he has chosen. By showing support he will the feel he can come to you when he hits bottom or needs a hand. This is his journey in life and he has to make the choices himself. That is why it is so important to show your on his side and are there to support him along the path he has/is taken.
Check at Emory for clinical studies. My son participated in one years ago and medication was a part of the program.
