Named after General Burnside who was the very man that made the side burns become popular. Credit is due to the Soldiers of the Union Army that actually named General Burnside's Pork Chop style facial hair Sideburns. Thus began the backward word transfers of certain things like for one example: you Drive on a Parkway and Park on a Drive Way.
