Unfortunately, it is not uncommon that the incompetence of these doctors cause extreme cases of medical misdiagnosis that harm children and their families. Anybody who takes their children here for help is at risk for medical malpractices, however if you are a minority and/or low income your chances are much higher. If you notice a medical emergency please take your children to St.Mary’s.

We had an appointment for February 15th, so today. We called them a couple days before asking when the time would be for my child’s surgery appointment to get his adenoids removed and tubes put in his ears. They never called me back then lied to me and my husband telling us they called us at 3pm yesterday. They never did. We had nothing in either of our call logs. They did something similar to this on Friday the 11th. They told us to drive all the way to Richmond. We live an hour away, To get our son tested for covid. They never turned the papers in to get him, so we drove up there to get him tested for no reason and wasted gas for NO REASON. I feel like they do not take what they do seriously. Not all of them just the people who schedule the appointments.

Not happy with the call center and one particular department within the system. I know there is COVID still complicating things. However when you opt to have your phone call returned oftentimes they will not do this. I stay on hold instead to make sure my call gets through. Today it will take approximately 42 minutes to wait. Nice. Also I have been struggling to get a sports medicine specialist to provide a script for my son to have new orthotics for his feet. He still has not done this. It has been close to a month since I made the first call. I have made multiple calls. I'm calling about this very same matter today. I will definitely be finding a new specialist to take care of my son's orthotic needs. Terrible.

My 2 month old baby had her left heel skinned by the tall male phlebotomist. He was irritated that I wouldn't allow him to draw blood from her arm this time around. The last time he tried to do so 2 times and failed claiming that's where it's best to do so, but he was wrong. With a infant under 20lbs or so you have to draw it from the heels regardless. She was screaming in pain for over 30 minutes of him trying to get it from her arm and then had to go with her heel. This time he was still trying to get it from her arm and pressing on it like he was determined to find a spot. I kept refusing for him not to do so because her arms are still so tiny and she is under weight. He got aggressive and wasn't friendly afterwards when he did her heels. I didnt see the area until we got home to put a new bandage on it and saw a big chuck of skin missing. We took pictures to make sure to file a complaint and also show her Dr the next visit to make sure he doesn't touch my baby again. If you need blood work done for your infant avoid the tall male phlebotomist on the sky zone floor.
