i took my boyfriend here for what was presumably a kidney infection or a kidney stone. he doesn’t have insurance so he doesn’t as scared to even be seen as is, and we made that clear with staff at check in. we ended up seeing an absolute angel of a nurse practitioner (i wish i could remember her name 😭) who agreed that it was either a kidney infection or kidney stone and went out of her way to provide us with the least costly option. she didn’t order any tests (so we didn’t have to pay for that) and instead gave him samples of a 10 day course of antibiotics (so we paid nothing for prescriptions either) and told us, if this works, it was an infection, and you should be good. if it doesn’t, it’s probably a kidney stone and apologized and told us we’d have to go to the ER in that case. process of elimination 🤣 in the end we only ended up having to pay the cost of the appointment itself (which we didn’t even have to pay any of on the day of), plus they do sliding scale!!! i was honestly just amazed at how accommodating they were with him having no insurance. 100% recommend.

Half the time they have an excuse for why they cant see you. I brought my son in for an ear infection and was told "they werent taking anymore respiratory cases today" even though ears arent respiratory. I thought maybe it was just a one time thing so was irritated but didnt think much on it. I came in today, their computers are down but theyre still seeing people. I need seen because my legs are swollen severely and my feet are purple. I had a baby a week ago. But I was turned away because "they arent seeing people with swelling due to their computers being down". What does being swollen even have to do with a doctor physically looking at my feet and checking my blood pressure? If you need care look elsewhere.

I personally would go to the emergency room because they'll most likely look at your eye with a strong magnifying device and some kind of dye or stain placed in it so they can see what damage was done
